Checkers

This is the Checkers location within Walmart on Hudson Bridge Road. I came to Walmart for shopping and my car for service. This location provides a clean, well spaced atmosphere which is a nice reprieve from walking within Walmart if you plan to be there for a while. Especially considering the tire shop no longer provides seating due to covid restrictions. Today I tried the 2 for $5 deal: spicy chicken (pictured) and fish sandwiches 😋 Both were good especially the chicken coupled with free refills on drinks 🍸 😋, not bad at all. The wait times are minimum and the service is good. A great value 👏 👌 👍.

I cannot even begin to tell you how sad I was to eat here. There were about 12 high-school aged employees crammed behind the counter with exactly zero interest in customer service. In fact, it felt more like I had stumbled onto a play yard at an intercity high school and was somehow interfering with their free-time by trying to buy a burger. One kid was clearly confused on how to properly wear a pair of pants as the waistline was literally resting below his ass cheeks, again something you'd be prepared to see on playground but certainly not in a restaurant, even fast food. The employees were standing around, propping themselves up on the counters and cursing and carrying on like they were at a social club rather than a place of employment. A couple of employees were arguing with a young lady who might have been a manager of some type about break time. Apparently a couple of them wanted to go to someone's car to smoke at which one employee replied, rather loudly and dramatically that he didn't do illegal drugs. The cashier didn't greet us. In fact she literally said no words at all. She just stared at us until we started ordering and then begrudgingly gave us something that resembled food. If I were in charge of this franchise, I'd fire everyone of them and start from scratch being much more discriminate in my interviewing process...

I wish I could give 0 stars...... The manager here had my nephew come in for an interview and then told him he needed to work for 3 hours on Wednesday and 3 hours on Saturday to see if they liked his work ethic and then they would hire him. I never heard of this and I didn’t think by law you were allowed to work behind the counter for free. Anything could happen and they would say we’re not liable because he wasn’t on the clock. Especially telling him he would be on the fryer. He’s 17 and his first job..........

Just finished here and it is disappointing. The employees are poorly groomed (hair) not uniformed and eating at the cash register. There where no customers (no surprise) except myself. The table eating area was not clean. Urban music was heard with bad language and employees where singing along. This place will close soon enough.

This is a terrible spot so many people standing around playing "manager" along with satff. Very unprofessional rude cashier over charged me. I felt embarrassed for them. No one was a leader and took pride in their jobs. Walmart should evaluate this business and its staff along with Annies. Sunday April 21, 2018.

The last 2 times I’ve came here and they only have 1 person working! It’s Saturday and lunch time (11:00am)and still only 1 person working taking orders and making the food. Mind you she’s very rude and didn’t wash her hands from handling money and then making food. I had to repeat my self 5 times to her while she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. My order was simple. 2 for 4 big chicken sandwich no lettuce or tomato. I still got tomato lol. After waiting 35 minutes for my order I counted 13 people walk out of line and go else where. Who ever does the schedule here shouldn’t unless they just like watching money walk out the door. Also the food quality was poor and cold.

First time going here and I am very disappointed. Waited in line for 10 minutes with out any acknowledgment from the staff. The guy working had no hair net on and long dreads almost hanging in the food. He had on gloves but touched money and the computer without changing gloves or hand washing, then just stuck his hand back in the lettuce and continued making sandwiches. I left because I obviously don't want food poisoning.

Sorry can't give less than 1 star. Went there yesterday at lunchtime. No customers, 3 employees sitting ON serving counter eating chicken. Stopped going to connecting auntie anne's because they never have pretzels done unless you are willing to eat the all day display. Never againi will find another one close by.
