Attentive, friendly staff serving delicious menu items. 12 in our party, each meal looked as good as it tasted. Lots and lots of expensive libations line the walls to pique your interest.

We loved the food!! We got a huge table in the back with a bunch of different food and drinks. We are here for my Friends wedding and we loved hanging out at the modern space.
One of the best spots downtown Stillwater to get some good food. A few things to keep in mind though. If you're in a rush, especially during busy times, you probably won't have time for here. Food comes out when it's ready, so it might take 15+ minutes between your food and someone else's food at the table to come out. If you expect all of your food to arrive at the same time or have side dishes come before or after your meal, this is probably not the place for you. However, if you're not a stickler about timing or when the food comes out, this place is awesome and worth the patience and the experience. Just sit down and enjoy your time with your friends and/or significant other. The food and atmosphere is worth it.
One of my new favorites. Fantastic place for whiskey...or whisky lovers. Book of alcohol available...and prices are mind-blowing. Great selection of wine. Fish tacos were great, but get them double wrapped. Fries good at happy hour (as are tacos) and wings are good as well. Definitely worth a visit - inside and outside are both very cool.
This was our 1st time eating at Matchstick and it was fantastic!! We tried 4 different dishes a day they were all excellent. We've had their cocktails before so we knew those would be awesome too. Possibly the best part is that the patio is dog friendly so our dog Guinness got to join us! It was a wonderful anniversary dinner.
I absolutely loved the interior design and decor of Matchstick. There is a lot to take in and observe when you enter the restraunt. I didn't order any drinks, but the bottle selection that they have is truly remarkable. Everyone I was with was impressed with the food and selection of bottles as well. I never caught our servers name, but she was great too!
I ordered the brisket tacos and it was delicious. The brisket was tender, and it was complimented nicely with the slaw, cotija, and radish. They kept it simple without going overboard on ingredients, and it was sophisticated in flavors. Toasting the tortilla was important to incorporate the dish together because nobody wants a soft, cold, and soggy tortilla. It was on the pricier side for two tacos and the food takes a little longer to come out, but it was executed perfectly.
Ok where do start Bartender Sam was amazing and very knowledgeable about the different Bourbons, whiskey and tequila. We had the Brisket Tacos that where cooked to perfection. The spears no expense on the Decor, This is a must if staying in still water a Lil on the spendy side however worth every penny.
For being a cocktail bar in trendy Stillwater, MN in the main level of an upscale hotel you cannot beat the atmosphere and the prices. I'm still surprised everytime I buy a round of cocktails and it doesn't break the bank. This place features a beautiful bar, a huge TV for watching sports with comfortable lounge seating. This is our go to night cap bar. Parking could be tough depending what night it is and what time it is but that's normal for Stillwater in the summer. Highly recommend!
