The 1924

We went for the matinee of Romeo and Juliet it had a modern spin and was all and all a wonderful performance. The venue is great with great acoustics.

We saw 12th night this past week and were fully engaged. It was an amazing performance and all of the actors were incredible and talented. The music selection was a lot of fun and we loved that it was contemporary with a twist. We also had no issue with the masking and vaccine requirements. It's clearly stated everywhere and really the only way to keep the actors safe. We did have an issue with the front of house staff. When we came in we were told that we could not bring in bottles of water ( this makes some sense as you can't take off your mask) , and that the bar was closed pre- performance, but it would be open at the intermission. This was repeated in an intro by one of the actors. The bar was not open during the intermission and we were then told that it had been open pre- performance. We were sent to a convenience store" around the corner". Which was closed. Some of our party walked more than a mile to find drinks, as several of us needed to take medication. It never occurred to us that we would not be able to get water. Had we been told pre show, that nothing would be available, when we first asked, we would have gone to the next ( still open) store and purchased water. I think that the front of house is probably volunteer? But completely diferent stories an hour apart. We still loved the performance and would definitely recommend. Just be sure to bring your own drinks. It is possible to go outside during the intermission, to drink.
