Umi Japanese Cuisine

Stopped for lunch on a Saturday. They are open for indoor dining. We sat at the sushi bar and shared a sushi & sashimi deluxe dinner. This includes a shrimp tempura roll. My daughter had some beef fried rice and a salad. The sashimi was cut and prepared beautifully! My daughter loved her fried rice and her salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. As I was photographing the wine bar I was intrigued by the miniature sushi house on the shelf. One of the staff excitedly took it down to show us. It was hand made by a customer that does miniatures and took two people over 30 hours to make! It even has power lights. A great experience dining here! Their sushi is among the best!

First time visiting. I deducted 3 stars for the following: taste of food, time to receive food and ability to replace sides (ie white rice for brown rice, soup for salad etc). I gave it 2 stars because the restaurant itself is cozy and nice inside and the customer service is good. I had the chicken skewers, udon noodles and California rolls and I disliked the taste of them all. I will return and I do not recommend.

I was pleasantly surprised. A Japanese friend and I came here for sushi and we were impressed! We both spent recent years in Japan. The sushi was pretty good and decently priced. The dumpling soup and squid salad was also great. And tempura was delicious. I'll be back! For two of us with 3 rolls And 3 appetizers, we spent under $55 which is a deal these days.
