Chorizo con Huevos!. At last, a place that actually serves a Mexican breakfast menu! I order the Mexican breakfast #1 regularly, spicy Chorizo sausage mixed into scrambled eggs, with refried beans and Mexican rice. It comes with your choice of steamy corn or flour tortillas and a selection of bottled or house salsas. Delicioso! And our favorite waitress, Donna, will take care of you!
Authentic & Delicious. I have longed for flavorful Mexican food--not the usual bland, same-old, same-old combos. El Tenampa exceeded our expectations. I had absolutely the best steak enchiladas with green chili that I have ever eaten--just the right amount of heat and the beef was so tasty. A friend had chicken quesadillas and those were also excellent. My husband had camarones a la diabla (shrimp in devil sauce) which all of us loved. Marcos, our server, is very helpful and friendly. This is a tiny place next to a small, Mexican grocery store, which is easier to spot than the restaurant is so look for it. Irlo Bronson Hwy is not somewhere I would normally go for dining but I will certainly go out of my way in the future to eat at El Tenampa again.
This place just rocks!. El Tenampa is a quite neighborhood establishment. Breakfasts are to die for. Extremely generous portions and good old home cooking. Though I have not eaten any of the Mexican lunches, I am sure they are quite good based upon the breakfast! Unfortunately, El Tenampa is not in the best strip center here in St. Pete, however, they deliver a very robust and satisfying breakfast.... at about 1/3 less than all the local breakfast restaurants. It's a huge thumbs up for me!

Great value. For $7 I got a belly buster meal. I had to box up the rest of the ham steak because it was so much. Definitely falls into the strip mall, greasy spoon category. Has a slight smell of urinal blocks/cakes when you walk in which is off-putting but you quickly get accostomed to it. The waitress was excellent; great service. A hidden gem.
The customer service was great, very prompt and polite. The food was delicious and the chips where steaming fresh. The salsa and chicken fajitas where delicious. The only reason it's not five stars is due to the rice. I loved the pink color, but unfortunately it was pretty bland, which kind of dumbed down the taste of the chicken and vegetables. But other than that everything was great!
My favorite neighborhood breakfast spot. The service is excellent and the food comes out quickly. No frills spot. Yummy chorizo Mexican scramble.

Ever want something good, quick and reasonable but you don't feel like cooking or fast food? This is the place. No thrills. Nice people working there.
Don't judge a book by its cover. This restaurant is AMAZING. They have the best chilaquiles I've had in a while. The food is really authentic and the service is excellent.
