Costa Brava

Do not order House Paella from Costa Brava. Both quantity and quality is poor. First there was 2 shrimp, 1 small bay scallop, 4 mussels, a teaspoon size portion of fish and several small rings of calamari. Second, the seafood was so overcooked. The calamari was tough and chewy and the rest of the seafood was chewy and dry. When you pay $42 for a Paella dish you expect the seafood not to be overcooked. When you advertise in your description scallops you should at least get 2 of them. I won't even go in to the presentation I'll just say "Lacking". The only good part was the addition of the squid ink. We are currently staying at the Casa Monica which is an excellent resort/hotel. I would expect better quality of meals from a restaurant within the Marriott Hotel Collection. I have eaten several Paella dishes and this one was the worst by far. The number one sin of quality seafood is to overcook it. Don't eat the House Paella at the Costa Brava restaurant not worth the money. The Roasted Turkey Sandwich is a must-order off the lunch menu- definitely the best of all the sandwiches. Couple that with an espresso martini, and you've got yourself a pairing as classic as peanut butter and jelly!

We had our wedding reception in the Sultan's Room of the Costa Brava. The food and beverage people were not the best at communicating during the lead up to the day, however the hustle shown by the staff the day of the event, quality of food and service made it a 5 star experience hands down. We had a small reception of 22 guest, but all were impressed by the steak, porkchop, and fish! Days later they were still talking about the food.

My family and I had the pleasure of having brunch at The Cordova last Sunday! Our food was delicious, our Bloodies, Mimosa, and the Screwdriver were tasty, and Karen, our server, had tons of personality and a great sense of humor. However, to totally enjoy your meal, you need background music allowing you to converse with the people at your table. That was not the case! My husband suggests that you move the music to the bar and let the sound drift into the restaurant!

We have a house around the corner and love to pop in. Usually for drinks or dinner. Today, I felt like trying out breakfast. The food and beverage manager greeted me and was very nice. There was a short wait around 9am because the big breakfast rush had just ended and tables had to be cleared. I didn’t mind waiting because I could see they were taking their time to clean and reset each table meticulously. The egg white omelette was very good- light and not overloaded with cheese. My coffee stayed full and I enjoyed taking my time without feeling rushed. The ambiance is relaxing and beautiful. Next time I’ll bring the family. If you’re coming for drinks- the Lavender gimlet is so smooth with just the right amount of sweetness.
