Savannah Sweets

My wife says I have to give them 5 stars. I must agree with her. This place is really neat. 1st off the air conditioning inside works great which is wonderful if you can sweat near behind off outside. The staff is very friendly. They were actually making the pralines when we came into the store and it smelled wonderful. They have a wide variety of candies and fudge to choose from. Even the pickiest kid will find at least one thing that they want to get their parents to buy them.

My partner and I stood waiting for service this evening (we were the only people in the store) for over 5 minutes. No eye contact. Didn’t acknowledge us. I imagine it isn’t always unfriendly like this, but it left an impact and we left still not being acknowledged. The original location in Savannah is extremely friendly, so we were disappointed with this experience.

Great sweet shop! So much selection made fresh onsite. Love all the fudge and chocolate choices. There are also a number of prepackaged goodies to choose from. It’s very clean and the staff is quite helpful. The store is in the heart of the old town and easy to get to. This is a great place to get gifts and to treat yourself.

4 stars for being so close to the shop in Savannah, 5th star because it's waaay closer to home! The candy behind the counter was very fresh and exactly what I expected. I cannot speak about the pre packaged sweets because I have never purchased them, but the girl that served us said "this stuff (candy behind the counter) is always the freshest"

The two stars are not for the candy, which are always delicious! The two stars are for the bad service I’ve received several times over the years. Although the candies are wonderful, the employees attitudes are always for the birds. This time took the cake, as a young man was working and acted irritated when we said we’d need help, and he immediately walked away, and had to come back to help us within a few seconds of us saying we’d need help. We began ordering and he acted confident that he could remember to grab every item we ordered, and when we’d pause to make sure not to overwhelm him, he’d tell us to continue as he was sure to get everything. Well no shock, the main thing we’d never tried and were excited for was never in the bag. We’re from Michigan and we always make sure to stop in, but it’s disappointing when you’re states away and open your bag to find things missing after an overconfident and arrogant employee assures you they’ll get everything. He also just shoved everything barely wrapped in tissue into the bag and everything fell out. It would’ve been appreciated if things would’ve been put into a box. It wasn’t very professional. If you’re looking for delicious candies, this is the place. Just be prepared for bad service and attitudes, and make sure to check that everything you order is in the bag!
