The perfect start to $5 Tuesday night movie night! The food was awesome, drinks were cheap, and the staff (and owner) couldn't have been more hospitable. Fish platter specials, half price wine, $1.50 Coors bottles... We'll be back for sure.

Fair priced food. Fish was great and crispy. Owner is real pleasant

Very friendly staff who are eager to share the story behind the ingredients and menu selections. Service is a bit slow, as other reviewers have noted. The corn muffins are not to be missed and the coke slaw was delicious. I enjoyed the catfish dinner, which was well priced and generously portioned. I recommend this place for quality call ahead, take out food.

My family and I went to Tasty City (our first visit). We were very pleased with the atmosphere, the bar , the cleanliness, the staff, and the service we received. We ordered from the menu , which was not overbearing . I ordered the beef sandwich and I asked if I could have my cheese sauce on the side they said no problem. Other members of my family had the polish, Chicago dog, Fish etc. The owner and staff was very attentive to our needs and made us feel very warm and welcome. I must say this is the place for all of Springfield to eat at , you will truly enjoy the food as well as the service . I will be coming back again and again.

Great service and great selection of different food items. I have eaten here multiple times and never been disappointed by the food. There food is made to order so always fresh but takes a little longer, but their food is worth the wait. They have a great seafood items, and they have the best Chicago Dogs in all of Springfield.

Just a couple comments on this restaurant. The staff is overly friendly, to the point of being overboard. The place is spotless clean and really a nicely decorated with a good vibe. The food however was poorly prepared and not worth what I paid for it.
The roll was tough and chewy not crusty and soft. I literally had trouble biting through it. The dressing/sauce was odd and had a flavor I just didn't care for. Certainly not a traditional Remoulade like you find on most shrimp PO-Boys. The FIVE whopping shrimp that where served where over cooked to the point of being dry and tough.
I love coleslaw however it needs to be fresh, the cabbage needs to be crisp. I got a foam container of wilted cabbage with some mayo mixed in. I only ate two bites, one was enough the second just confirmed that, that slaw had turned and should't be served to a customer.
All in all not impressed at all and just an opinion but fresh fish like perch and catfish are not seafood!!! The only thing I saw on the menu that came out of the sea where shrimp.
If this place is still open in 6 months I'd be shocked.

Hidden Gem! Leroy is the owner and personally came out to say hello. He is clearly very proud of his establishment and he should be. Food is all made fresh and is amazing!! Can dine in or carry out. If you enjoy locally owned and operated where the owner is serving you, this is the place to go. We had our food within 10 minutes.

We have been here twice. While the food is flavorfull the wait time to get the food is unacceptable. Tonight we waited 1 hr and 20 minutes and at that point we were told they didn’t have the scallops my husband had ordered. The owner was confrontational and rude when I tried to express my frustration at the long wait and getting over cooked/burnt salmon. I asked him to step away from our table at which point he accused me of “disrespecting” him in his own restaurant. I wish this new restaurant well but do not see it succeeding unless they correct the problems in the kitchen and I heir customer service.
