Parkway Cafe

A nice variety of choices but a little on the scant side. What they offer, they make in house. Breakfast all the time is a big hit Our fries could have been cooked more. The home made chips were a big hit. Build your own salad was an interesting concept: order the bowl of lettuce and pay a little for each ingredient you want added.

Parkway is one of the best for a weekend breakfast. It checks all my boxes - clean, inviting, ample menu choices, and a hook in the ladies room for my purse! It’s got that casual diner style with plenty of local touches. Love the Lincoln Site photos and horseshoe menu option. So happy this staple location reopened for our dining pleasure 🤗

My daughter and I traveled to Springfield to pick up a couple of rescued shelter dogs. We were meeting the people in Springfield to get the dogs. We stopped at parkway Cafe and the food was very good. We both ordered breakfast. The scrambled eggs with cheese nice portion, bacon four five strips, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. Price was very reasonable, the service was very good, quick friendly! If we have an opportunity to travel to Springfield Illinois again, we will definitely stop in at Parkway Cafe!

My husband and I have been customers of the Parkway for close to 20 years. It was always one of our favorite places to eat. Yesterday, we returned for the first time since they reopened. I have to say, the service was excellent and the help was extremely nice as they always were. However, the food was not good. My husband ordered scrambled eggs and found eggshells in his serving. Whereas, pre-pandemic, we would have finished our meal entirely, yesterday, at least half went to the garbage. In addition, with our tip, our bill was $28.00. That is a lot for a mediocre meal in my book. Leanne is a wonderful lady, but I didn't see her anywhere yesterday. I'm sorry this has happened to our local restaurants, but I will be staying home to eat for quite a while.
