Lovely place with a good variety of Pakistani/Indian food. I love that they have desserts in the buffets. Prices are good too and they also offer freshly baked bread. My only problem was that we had to share the buffet with a party that was going on (not that big of a deal honestly) overall it was good.
One of the best desi restaurants I've eaten at in the USA. Heads up that they do serve Paay and Kashmiri tea. All their dishes are authentic in flavor specially bbq and Chooly. Their service is awesome, especially the young guy from Northern Pakistan (i think Hunza) that sits at the cashiers desk or the take away counter. He will be the nicest cashier you'll come across. Restaurant is clean and ambiance is great too. Only complain is their washrooms are not good.
Went for a buffet dinner on a weeknight, the food was really nice. We we're late in getting there, the manager very honestly told us that the food isn't as warm as it needs to be. We still went for it, and it was just fine. All the curries had authentic taste, they even had chicken corn soup, which was nice to have on a cold night. They had really good chickpea curry, and fresh bread was brought in to the table. Also, they had great 'paya' and 'haleem'.
At the end of our meal, the manager brought us 'gajrela' (carrot rice pudding)as a special dessert from the kitchen, it was just awesome!!
It's a great place to visit with family, any day of the week. I am saying this as I have noticed some Desi restaurants have stale food on weekdays, especially the ones with buffets. Mehran is a great option from price point too.
It is criminal that this place does not get more business! I ate at Mehran when it was in DC, and the guy I worked with said "I've eaten all over India, and this is the best Tandoori chicken I have ever had," and I have to agree.
The food has not changed in quality since moving to Springfield. Every piece of food is top notch: It feels like a mix of home-cooking comfort and restaurant quality deliciousness, all at really affordable pirces (weekday buffet is only $10). This is my favorite Indian restaurant in the DMV area, and I highly recommend anyone go here. You will find something you like!
Having worked in restaurant a good portion of my life, I am obligated to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed coming to Mehran in Springfield. There are several choices in Springfield but my family, especially children love this place. First, food is great, excellent choices in the Buffet. Secondly, service with a smile which you rarely see at “Desi” restaurants.
If you are in the area, you must visit this place.
10 $ For open buffet lunch, you can't ask more... The best delicious Pakistani cuisine I ever had in DC... They were in Foggy Bottom and moved to this cozy place. You gotta love it
Food was very good. Nice Buffet, decent selection, Everything clean. There was only one waiter and he was busy shuttling back and forth to the back, but he was very pleasant. The flatbread was fresh off the tandoor and was delicious. My only regret is that I'm trying to lose weight, and so I only took one gulab jamun.
Their buffet was pretty fresh. They were constantly changing items. That's pretty hard to come by actually. All the dishes had pretty good flavor. The seating was nice as well. Great service. I'll be back
The food was very delicious. The buffet was having variety of Pakistani dishes. The naan was fresh. The customer service was great especially the waitress.
One of the Best Pakistani/Afghani food I have ever eaten at. Hands down the Best Lamb Karaai ever, the fresh ginger and fresh cilantro compliments the tender lamb so well. Their butter bread is addictive.
