Great beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs! Tried the hot sauce, regular and Carolina Sauces. Mac 'n cheese, pecan coleslaw, and beer-battered fries. LOTS of food! We will be back!
The BEST BBQ we’ve ever had. Passing by hit this place by miracle, wow the amazing food. Everything was amazing. Great service and the best BBQ. Met a passing client who saved our skin with a tip on staying overnight as we were planing to cross the mountains on our bikes. Thank u!!!
Great pulled pork sandwich and battteted fries, good stop for a stretch and meal during the long drive through here.

Battered fries were amazing. Husband had the green chili chicken mac & cheese and said the flavor was wonderful and tasty. Bbq sandwich was good, skimpy on bbq sauce. Brisket sandwich tasted good. However we had stopped at a bbq joint in NM that had more meat for less money so only 4 stars, but a good place to eat.
Wow! Visiting the area and tried The Gateway Smokehouse based on reviews. The brisket sandwich AND the pulled pork sandwich were the BEST I have ever tried! So tender, yet crispy on the edges. So flavorful you didn’t even need extra sauce. Beans were amazing too. Got here too early to try the daily special (which starts at 5:00) which was a 1-pound smoked baked potato topped with pulled pork and all the extras. Can’t wait to come back again!!
I believe I had the best pulled pork sandwich of my life at Avery’s on Saturday afternoon. It was perfect
And Pecan Coleslaw as well. The bread pudding was the icing on the cake.

We stopped into this place just thinking get a drink, get some gas, goodbye. Then we sauntered into Avery's from the 76 and decided we were hungry. Got a Brisket and beer battered fries, and a BQ-ban (Avery's take on a Reuben) with onion rings. It was delicious, melt in your mouth meat. The atmosphere is amazing just like the food.
I shook the cooks hand. Steaks are a special treat here, only served one day a week. What a nice main course, to the one pound burger hors d'oeuvre. On this day I did my part to reduce cow fart emmissions, by eating them.
Food was delicious! Love the atmosphere and the service. They have the whole package. If you're in town and hungry there is no better place to eat.
