Spotted Dog

This place was very good! We had reservations for 5:30 and got seated right away. The place was pretty empty around this time. The waiters were friendly and the service was fast. They had plenty of water to stay hydrated after a long day of hiking. We got the pesto pasta, meatloaf, purse pasta, lamb, and halibut. It was all very flavorful with large portions for a good price. Overall love this place will be back!!

One of the best meals we've had in Utah. The trout dish was surprisingly well complemented by wild berries. The brisket was tender and moist, with the perfect barbecue sauce that was neither too mild nor strong. The boiled asparagus could be better prepared though. The tuna was okay, a bit on the salty side. The pecan pie was delightful, a perfect dessert for this season with a strong, thick crust and nicely spiced filling. The pumpkin pie was a huge letdown though, with an under-flavored filling and a soft crust.

You must visit here and ask for Freddy. Whatever he tells you to order just do it. I promise. We had the Old Soul red blend wine and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pesto is one of the best I have had. The purses pasta is a must! It was unlike any other stuffed pasta I have had. The limoncello cake with raspberry sorbet is really light and refreshing. The second night we had an old fashioned. They make their bitters with orange and it is a great whiskey drink. The meatloaf has an amazing gravy on it. If you like ahi tuna this is the dish to get.

While we were in Springdale we got a table here as we had read great reviews for the place! The staff are very friendly and attentive and the premises has ample room both indoors and out. The setting for where this restaurant is located truely makes for a brilliant dining experience! They had Smoked Beef Short Ribs that looked amazing but sadly for me they had sold out, which must be a good sign. Thankfully our server was at hand to recommended that I try the SouthWest Chicken Breast, it was so flavourful and delicious! It came with a fresh avocado and mango salsa and this was paired with wild rice! My partner and our friend ordered the Purses with Sage Butter. Our friend said she first tried this dish in Italy about 10 years ago and the Spotted Dog was the first restaurant in the USA that she had seen this dish on the menu! If you're passing by on a holiday to Zion or if you live in the area you should book a meal in the Spotted Dog.

Great experience every time I visit! One of the best wine lists in the state. Great service and beautiful setting. Sitting outside in the patio on a nice evening is tough to beat. The food is really good. Especially the pasta purses and the lamb shank. If you live anywhere close it’s worth the trip to go and try out. Ownership are great kind people and it’s a good local company.
