We first visited this place as it was opening - almost 20 years ago. Have visited several other mexican food restaurants across the Houston area. Grew up in south Texas. This place is simply awesome. I have worked my way across the menu. You will not find a better selection with amazing quality. You will not be disappointed here.
FOLLOW UP (11/01/23): Apparently this restaurant was sold. The quality of the food has dropped like a rock. This was a traumatic experience for us as this place was SOLID. Now the food is trash. I asked the people at the front about what happened to the quality, but they are all new and don't understand what I am asking. Now looking for another good Mexican food restaurant. SMH.

Hidden gem in Spring! Definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Easily trumps Alicia's and a really strong contender with Mama Juanita's. Great drinks, great food for the price, and exceptional service. Very unassuming ambiance but don't let first impressions fool you. Very rare to find a place here that serves fried whole tilapia but boy do they fry and season it soooo good! Glad I don't have to drive all the way to Mambo's for this now. Just two things.. Please don't serve this awesome fried tilapia with fries,just Spanish rice and Pico would be awesome. Also the flan was really good, if it's made with little to no egg whites then this flan would be fantastic!
