Spring Valley Diner

This was my first time having Dominican breakfast and I enjoyed it thoroughly 😋. We ordered Mangu with salami, cheese and eggs. I had to get a take out plate with me because the serving was so much - I love that 😅. I had tamarind juice and my boyfriend got a drink with orange juice mixed with milk and it was amazing. I will definitely be coming back to Latin Star. I highly recommend.

We usually pick up our orders and usually its the same thing, steak onions rice beans etc,,, Maybe I should start ordering chicken bc the steak is beyond tough. I find myself chewing pieces for like 10 minutes and finally just have to spit it out. I've asked them to cut it beforehand as its so tough to cut through and I guess that's a sign. I don't like giving sub par reviews but I don't get why the steak is so tough. Everything else is good but I love steak so why bother. smh.

The food is good. I've been buying food there for many years. For the first time I had an issue today. I ordered something and the person repeated my order back to me correctly, but when I picked it up and took my food home, it was the wrong order. When I called back the young lady was very rude and I had to try my best to hold my composure. She actually hung up on me and when I called back I asked for a manager. Finally someone civilized came to the phone and really listened to what I was saying. She was able to fix everything. The owner needs to speak to the staff about customer service. I noticed the owner only replies to nice reviews. You should address even the people with complaints.

The food really depends on the day and the time you go. Sometimes both the service and food are on point. If you go during certain telenovelas, be prepared to be ignored and basically get your drinks and anything else you need on your own. There's one particular waitress who's pretty nasty, we avoid going there at night now because of her. But it is what is. Again the food has its days, hope you go on a good one!

I was in there just today & ordered rice & beans. I noticed the beans were in a watery & light orange color sauce. The sauce is usually thick and have a more rich, dark color. I went back inside and told him that the beans was very watery and thin. They had me taste the beans and I was correct. It was very watery and the flavor was lacking. There was no flavor. And the man there said “what do you want me to do”. He said, “You’re not going to take the beans?”. I answered him, “No, my daughter isn’t going to like this. There’s zero flavor and it’s watery.” He throws it in the garbage. I asked if I could be compensated & he responds that I wasted his food and now it’s in the garbage. I was so shocked by his rudeness. I’m never going here again. You don’t treat your customers that way. I’ve been to many restaurants, and this is the first time someone has been so rude.
