Been going to Dave's since...Well, a long time. It's my Friday lunch spot because they use melt-in-your-mouth HALIBUT for their delicious fish and chips! And their chowder is on point as well. Classic "dive bar" without the riff raff. Thanks Dave and crew for great food and excellent service!
Excellent steak cooked to exact specification on initial asking (a very rare occurrence even from finer steak houses). Exceptional service, all of the workers are very friendly and cover each other to ensure your drink is never empty.
Breakfast stop on our way to the Christmas Bazaar! First time here and it was well worth it! The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious! Best sausage links I have ever had! Will definitely go back!

More a Restaurant.... Been lovin' bar food, lately. Dave's was selected today, and they were really good. Tried the fish & chips recommened by another reviewer, and they were exactly what I was lookin'/feelin' for this AM. They sport a nice Americana menu, and even swapped out turkey for beef on my daughter's French Dip on her asking. As far as ambience, this place is much more restaurant, than dive bar. And that's not a bad thing at all. They will pour you a stiffie if you order it, and they have a nice counter area with requisite sports on TV---without having gorilla-sized screens. Couple of nice gals manning the entire dining/bar area. Pretty darned busy on a Wed morning, with a diverse crowd. Very, very comfortable place...
They keep to the basics as far as the menu but do them well. Breakfast is great- big portions of the classics. Drinks are good, and has a good "updated dive bar" feel.
'Nuff said. Good food, good drinks, good service!! Can't go wrong with Dave's!
Great Fish and Chips. Having lived in Australia, our standard for fish and chips is pretty high. We've been searching since we moved here 18 months ago. Finally someone recommended Dave's. YES!!! We've had some okay f&c in Spokane, but this is by far the best and comparable to our favorite place in the Seattle area where we moved from. Thick cut, large portions of real fish filets with the perfect amount of beer batter. I also like that they serve it with a nice dill tarter sauce and the malt vinegar is on the table. Comes with soup/salad. Everything else I see people eating looks great, but I can't help ordering the fish again!
The shop front is totally unassuming. The atmosphere is totally laid back, neighborhood like. We've always gone for lunch and it's busy'ish, but plenty of tables left. After only going a couple of times, the waitress remembered that I liked double tarter--it's little things like that that make you want to come back aside from the food.

St. Patrick's Day. It's probably unfair to rate someplace that's packed with people and serving something they only serve once a year ... but the corned beef & cabbage was outstanding and I can't wait to come back and try something off the regular menu. The service was great, especially since it was so crowded! I really liked this hole-in-the-wall.
Good food...we will be back.. A co-worker recommended Dave's for breakfast. The place was packed. I ordered steak and eggs, my boyfriend had the "killer" omelette. He's a big guy and had trouble finishing it all. Steak was pretty good. Service was ok...very reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. The only down side was a very loud and obnoxious drunk at the table next to us who clearly should have been cut off from ordering anymore Bloody Marys.
Good food, great people. What more could you ask for. Just a short wait, not bad.

Dave cooked us up a great halibut and chips lunch, I would highly recommend this place. Erin made sure we had everything we needed. We will be back! 😀
