Carrows Restaurant

An old classic. You always know what you are getting here. Even though prices have gone up everywhere, the cost of our meal was actually reasonable. We did have to wait over 30 minutes to be served due to lack of staff on the day we visited, but our waitress inforned us of the delay from the minute we walked into the restaurant and she was going to show us to our seats. Enjoyed visiting again, as we had not returned since before the pandemic started.

This restaurant is always pleasant. From the way you're greeted when you walk in the door to the way your thanked for your patronage at the end of your stay. It's the reason I keep coming back. 😊 The food is delicious and usually comes out of the kitchen looking just like the picture in the menu. The waiters are always nice and friendly, and so are the cooks.. I love this place.

Unfortunately was a bad experience my mother, aunty and I used to come often to this restaurant. This time it seems the quality of food and service was horrific. My mom and auntie got the salmon with steam veggies and rice. The rice look overcooked, but it was actually spoiled had a slime texture, sour taste. My experience was differently the pancakes were undercooked and hashbrowns as well no seasoning and undercooked. The service was kind of sad, when I saw an orderly gentleman trying to cover 7 tables and the manager was more concern of wrapping utensil with napkins instead of helping his serve (Lead by example). Hopefully it gets back to the old times

Tell others why you loved this place? Well, I do like Carrows but one shouldn't fool oneself with what they're getting into when they go there. They do post the calorie amounts and things of that nature on their menus but you know, that just goes to show that this is a place that's targeted for oh, well, older people who want to feel that they're you know not pigging out but probably are. It is american diner style kind of food. The people who serve you are Pleasant the people behind the counter are decently pleasant too but distracted and busy which is understandable. I'm saying everyone does their job competently well and I have never been mistreated there. The food is what it is. Certain dishes are made in a way that depending on when you were born you may or may not want to eat. Other things you know, anyone can eat. But don't blame the place if you don't like what they serve, for instance I know that their sandwiches are good the cold ones and so I order something like that and my experience is good. Don't expect this place to compete with their burgers or fries or onion rings as that would be foolish. You go to a place like arrows because it's generally in your neighborhood, it's open late, and it's been there forever. If I were to be really thinking about it, I'm not entirely certain they'd really earn a five more like a 4.5 or even a 4.3 just because it's not the kind of food I would generally eat but that's not their fault you know so in terms of what they do, as they're nice the foods you know what it is and the place is generally clean, for those reasons it's a five.

I ordered the lumberjack breakfast. Food was good. Portions seemed a little smaller than what was shown on the menu. Picture shows two eggs, it seemed like I got one scrambled egg. My slice of ham was smaller than what was depicted on the menu. The french toast was literally one thin slice of bread but it was good. We ordered one English muffin and it was the saddest ugliest looking muffin I've ever seen in my life. The rest of the food was up to standard. The waitress provided very good customer service and we got our food pretty quick.
