We had a wonderful experience at Schlitterbahn. The staff was extremely helpful, our room was very nice and clean with a great view of the Gulf. I would love to go back again.

Went to Shrimp Haus on Monday night in mid May at around 6:30. We were the 3rd table in this rather large restaurant. (So not tourist season .) The restaurant is a bit run down, done in a tiki style - but a large clean restaurant. There is outside seating available. There were 4 of us so we tried: chicken fried shrimp, pepper jack shrimp, coconut shrimp and pecan crusted shrimp and for an appetizer the calamari. There are a few non shrimp options on the menu: burgers, steak, chicken and other fish type items. A lot of fried seafood items as well as a lot of items that are grilled or in sauce with pasta. Ordered a margarita since it is touted the best in the island. I would disagree as it was not the best - just an average margarita. There is a full bar. All our meals came with all you can eat salad bar. Despite the low traffic in the restaurant - all was fresh at the salad bar with a good variety. The calamari was cut in thick steak strips and fried. It was very good and the sauce complimented it nicely. On the shrimp meals - all were around $15 and plenty of shrimp. The pecan crusted shrimp was the night special with all you can eat but could not finish the initial portion - good just too much food. It came with a spicy sweet sauce. Everyone felt the portions were generous. The chicken fried shrimp and the pepper jack shrimp were favorites. Meals came with a choice of two sides. The vegetables were good and not overly seasoned. One got the onion rings that were advertised as spicy - although they were good - they were not spicy. This would be a good place to take a large group. Steven was our server and we got excellent service.
We watched the Super Bowl here and had a great time! The noise level inside was just too loud and we couldn't hear a dang thing, so we moved to the deck area outside. Ended up having an amazing experience watching the game with another couple and the waiters and manager came and went, always helping us cheer on our CHIEFS and seemingly as excited as we were to be watching them play a super bowl. We had wings early and they were good, but our drinks never stopped coming and even though the place was packed, our service never lagged. Another SPI establishment that made us feel right at home!
I give this place 4 stars for the good. Maybe even 5. Service was great. BUT we were the first customers of the day and they had been open for several hours. The holiday weekend was over but we wanted food and an ocean view. We did get both. The margaritas were really good and cheap as it was happy hour. The shrimp pepper jack was to die for and the baked/stuffed shrimp incredible.
That said the windows needed cleaning badly. The restrooms (both) were filthy. With all the staff sitting around waiting for customers, where the heck was the manager?? Or did he have no cleanliness standards? Schlitterbahn should be ashamed at the condition of the restaurant and grounds in general. Only saving grace was the booze, service and good food. High marks for the good low marks for the location.
I've been there a couple of times to eat with the my son's after we went to Schlitterbahn. The atmosphere is laid-back Island Style. Tonight I was there at an event called the Margarita Madness party. Some of the events they host they're really awesome. If you want to have a great view with your meal you can see the beach from the outside seating.
Food was pretty good. The place was pretty empty so the staff was very friendly and helpful.
So happy I went here !!!! The food was delicious and the staff was so nice and friendly. The prices are proportionate and portions are big. But what really did it for me and my husband is that they welcomed our little flea (pet dog) they sat out outside in a nice patio area with a cute view and brought us our food along with water for our fur baby.
Best shrimp I've ever had! Lots of choices. The salad bar included with the dinner meal was great. Service was good. Nice view of the beach across from the water park. Non seafood choices are good too. The spinach stuffed chicken was one the best meals I've ever had at a restaurant.

This place was awesome. Went on spring break for vacation and tried this place. I ordered the shrimp fettuccini which was the daily special for Thursday. (All you can eat shrimp fettuccini for $10). I had four plates of some of the best shrimp I’ve ever had. Also had an awesome down to earth server named Steven and I would recommend him to anyone that visits here. Casual laid back place with a good atmosphere. 5/5
First visit to the Shrimp House and had the best lunch. Salad bar was all fresh and delicious. My husband John had a ribeye and was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were cooked al dente and perfect! I had blackened red snapper and also perfect. Steven, our waiter was fun, efficient and made us feel welcome and was very attentive ! Great experience !
my favorite place to come to for happy hour on the island! the chicken bahnditos, nachos & the fried fish basket are my go to snacks/meals! the staff is super friendly & i love every experience i’ve ever had here! my family also loves coming to the beach park for vacation! you really can’t beat the prices, the happy hour & the quality food that shrimp haus offers!!
