Been our favorite bakery for years, so when we got married this past week we knew we had to have a Lyndell's cake. It was a wedding on a budget and we got one of their large sheet cakes for 60-70 people. The price was amazing and the cake even better. While I of course tell everyone who will listen to go there for black and white cookies and such, anyone looking for a cake for their wedding day should ABSOLUTELY go to Lyndell's.
My favorite bakery! I've been going here for sixteen years since first moving to Somerville. The donuts are the best I've ever had. I love that I see the same folks here over years, and just love a neighborhood business.
This magnificent cake Lyndell’s made for my moms 86th birthday. The beautiful cascading flowers speak for themselves.The frosting is creamy, sweet and sublime. The cake was moist and incredibly fresh. I’ve bought cakes at many bakeries but Lyndell’s beats them all by far.
I love the chocolate cannoli and cream puff the most! The cupcake frosting texture was amazing. Definitely would go back again!
Exactly like a bakery I worked at in high school, back in the day. Home-made pastries, just like I remembered. Delicious coffee rolls, (huge), lemon, raspberry, apple, figure 8 Danishes, pecan rolls and cinnamon rolls, soft, tasty and SO FRESH! So, nothing like what you find in a supermarket bakery, (which isn't bad,) but this is another league. Oh, and don't forget the mocha cakes, a bite of heaven! I will go back to try the old fashioned donuts and maybe a cake for our next birthday.

I stumbled across this little treasure shop of goodies in my travels. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Regretfully they did not have anything with peanut butter and chocolate!!! That is the only reason I couldn't give them five stars.
I decided on a Boston Creme donut which was stuffed with cream and drenched with a dark semi sweet chocolate icing.
I shall return every time I am in the area. The carrot cake is still haunting me!! And hopefully next time they will have my favorite combo of peanut butter and chocolate!!
I was visiting Boston for a few days and Lyndell's was the closest bakery. I had read about how it's one of the oldest bakeries in the country and figured it must be good if it's been around that long! I am so happy I went because the food I tried was very tasty (a donut and a moon cake) and the staff was so friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back next time I am in Boston!
Lyndell’s is a gem. Just moved to the area and stopped by for a few donuts. The Boston creme was fantastic, it has a really good Chocolate fudge frosting. One of the freshest donuts I’ve ever had. You can tell everything is homemade and they use real ingredients. Looking forward to trying their breads (which you can’t get on Sundays)
One of the best in town, great selection of desserts and they have some of the best cakes as well. The service is very friendly and attentive, superb experience I had being the first time going Inside the store. The cupcakes were great on the go snack for me. Definitely recommend checking out this bakery if you around this part of the city.
Lyndell's made my wedding cake and it was absolutely perfect! We could not choose between 5 flavors, and they made it work! People were raving about the cake and the selection. Thank you for making the best cake for our special day!
