The Crab Trap

We really enjoyed the clams casino and crab stuffed onion ring. The oysters Rockefeller and onion soup were pretty good as well. The porterhouse and prime rib were perfectly cooked to our liking. However the lobster tails weren't as tasty as we wanted them to be. Next time I would order the prime rib separately. The halibut on special was one of the best dishes and also perfectly cooked. The veal Maryland was also very good but on the heavier side because of the cream sauce. Overall, a nice place for seafood and steak.

The clams casino are a must have. We also tried the open faced crab cake and clams with white wine garlic sauce & pasta. The pasta sauce flavor was a bit too subtle but everything was well prepared otherwise. Very fresh seafood. It's a very large restaurant and we had no wait for lunch on a Saturday (though from other reviews it sounds like dinnertime is packed) Would recommend and we would come back to try other dishes.

Excellent staff, the wait time for the food was short—a great family-friendly atmosphere. The food overall was delicious, with no complaints. I even ordered dessert and two delicious coffees, freshly made coffee. Honestly, I highly recommend The Crab Trap if you are ever down by the shore; this is the spot, but make sure you call in advance for seating.

We went there for dinner tonight. My daughter and I ordered the exact same thing. We shared the crab bisque which had lots of crab in it. We also ordered the Crispy Grilled Crab Cakes in white wine sauce. Excellent! It also came with a side salad. Also fresh bread and blueberry muffins for the table. My SIL ordered the special of halibut in a tomato. He thought the fish was over cooked for his liking. For an appetizer he got the crab imperial in an onion ring which was good. We ordered the two peanut butter pie slices and apple pie slice to go. Service was excellent.

Great food and Service. I was looking forward to the clams on the half shell from the Crab Trap before I left Florida. Their clams are always fresh and a nice size. We first went on a Monday night and were told it would be a 90-minute wait. On a Monday in September, this place was packed. That is testament to their great reputation and food. We returned on our last night in the area - this time at 5:30 PM to get on the list. Our thought was to get on the list and then return later if it were also 90 minutes. I was determined not to leave the area without my clams and a visit to the Crab Trap. As it turned out - we were seated in about 30 minutes. In line with its reputation, the food and service were excellent, and we were not disappointed.

Visited for memorial day weekend and we were told the wait was about 1.5hrs, we happily added our name to the list, met other guests waiting to be seated, had drinks with them, laughed, next thing you know our table was ready-- what wait lol The service was spot on and welcoming. Ms. Robyn is Everything!! I mean, she genuinely wants you to be satisfied with your visit and food. She loves her job, is a great listener, enjoys working with ppl and it shows!! The food was sooo yummy! From bread/muffin basket, the cucumber salad, to my claim chowder soup which was sooo creamy & rich and full of claims!! My hubs shrimp plate was very delish- large sweet golden shrimp. My seafood pasta hold the shrimp please (allergies) was very tasty. Great flavors accompanied my dish. Lots of big juicy sautéed oysters, I mean just appetizing. Definitely looking forward to returning. Well done!

Chose to take my Mom here for lunch. Parking was pretty tight but was able to snag a spot out front. Our server was Victoria and she seemed educated on the menu and some recommendations since it’s been about a decade for me from being away. My mom occasionally goes with friends. Coconut Shrimp w a delicious sauce for the appetizer I choose after our servers info followed by some Creamy Crab Bisque , then for main course I personally had a special on the menu w/ rice lobster and more. My Mom had her usual Potato Crusted Salmon and dessert was rainbow sherbert! It was a great experience and lived in the moment, 1 pic to share. We will certainly be returning and asking for the same waitress because with such a vast menu, her recommendations and help with choosing some delicious plates was KEY! She was also extremely polite making the experience special with my Mom. Thanks CRAB TRAP. My mom was super stoked.
