A hometown favorite for tasty Mexican food with a lively and colorful ambiance. Be careful: the chips and salsa are so delicious that you'll fill up before your meal arrives. My favorite dish is the cabbage salad; my wife always goes with the chicken tortilla soup. And don't forget the margarita!

5 stars for awesome atmosphere, friendly staff, location.
3 stars for food, chicken enchiladas had a lot of white meat which I appreciate but needed seasoning, and I've had chicken enchiladas from many places but this was the first time I've had black olives sprinkled on top and unfortunately I despise the taste & smell of olives. Also, red salsa tasted more like marinara sauce than salsa.
On the expensive side.
Nice big portions.
I'd like to give it another try and order something different next time...

Fidel's is a Solana Beach institution. It's been around for decades. This large restaurant gets busy, but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Expect your classic So-Cal Mexican menu options (tacos, burritos, enchiladas, salads). Guests love their famous chips and salsa and margaritas. I love their Super Quesadilla!

Always good food but they have become a bit pricey. Service is still good and the atmosphere is great, nice outdoor spaces. Good chips and salsa. A old favorite, that we don't go as often because of the price increases. A bit difficult to find if your not familiar with the area. Parking is also limited.

Fun place, gets very busy on the weekends. Great Margaritas, good cheese crisp, Chili Colorado, and tacos. Funky and fun atmosphere.

We've been a couple of times now and it's been consistently fantastic food. It is a little on the pricey side, but the quality of the food is excellent. My favorite is their black beans; the flavor is the best I've had.
