Fast food is not their forte, and it’s wonderful. I was able to stop and have lunch at Your Mom’s this past weekend and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. First, it’s family owned and operated so you just feel at home when you walk in. You can clearly tell they spend time and put love into their food. I tried the Brussels sprouts first, then followed with the Shrimp picayune & grits.. all I can say is wow! My taste buds are still thanking me. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak and of course I had to try it.. not only was it massive but it was cooked perfectly. The batter was crispy and light, and I also learned they cut their own meat which is rare these days. I regret not taking a picture of it, but let’s be honest when something looks and smells that good who has time for a picture. Also, The ambience is lovely and the character of the exposed brick is also a nice touch. Please do yourself a favor and visit Your Mom’s if you have the chance!

I will be back! Shrimp & Grits for me and the old guy yum yum yum! Sister had the pork chop looked amazing and she ate it all! Our sides were Salad, Brussel Sprouts and Cheese Grits .... love them.
Side note, I thought I left my purse on the chair, left a message at the restaurant and the owner contacted me after hours to let me know it was not at the restaurant. Very appreciative of her going out of her way.

Burger was really good... Fries were a bit overdone
Wife said the pot roast was real good as well.

This place is AMAZING!! It has a nice cozy atmosphere inside, with a very casual feel. You come in, place an order at the counter, and find a seat while you wait for the food to come out.
The menu offers a selection of home-style meals, appetizers, etc. Don't be fooled, though. This menu is made with a chef's touch and BOY is it full of flavor!
I'm told they make the best chicken fried steak in Bastrop county, but I had to have the pot roast (I'm a big fan, and it's hard to find good roast). I was not disappointed!! The beef was flavorful and the sauce was a wonderful compliment, with savory/sweet tender carrot slices offering a great counterpoint!
I decide to get the brussel sprouts and gouda grits for my sides, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! The grits were a cheesy masterpiece, and the brussel sprouts were exactly what I was hoping for, with a great char and a tasty glaze! I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town, and I encourage everyone else to visit if you haven't yet! It's absolutely worth your time!

What a gem! Just off of Main Street, this awesome place serves the best burgers in town. Best place to stop and rewind on your 71 trip, the people are friendly and cute! Service impeccable, interior has great atmosphere and the food? All from scratch, with the best veggie burger we've had so far. It has cheese IN it! Oh, don't expect 3 minute service, if you want crappy fast food go to McDonald's....

So very excited to have found Your Mom's again! I used to go when they were in Austin, Texas and have missed their one of a kind burger. Get the Norma Jean and add a fried egg! Delicious! Stuffing the inside of the burger with cheese **mouth watering** then grilled to melty perfection...p.s. they are also keto friendly- lettuce wrapped burgers and traded out fries for broccoli with cheese... yes please! See you again soon!

I wanted to like this place, I really did. We were staying in Bastrop for the weekend and decided to eat here our first night. It was #1 on Yelp for dinner and everyone raved in their reviews about it, so we headed on in. On the outside window, there was a sign that said “we are not a fast food service restaurant, we make our food with time and love.” Okay, cool. I get it. It’ll take a little longer to eat. No biggie.
We walked in and filed in line behind the people who walked in in front of us. We looked for a menu and the only one we saw was on the wall behind the register on a letter board in small, jumbled up letters. I had looked online before we came, so I knew what we were going to get and after scanning the menu for a bit, I found it all on there. The lady at the counter taking our order was very sweet and helpful. She offered to get my son some fried catfish instead of chicken since that’s what he had wanted but didn’t want an adult portion. We paid and she told us she would get our glasses to us after she washed some. Okay cool.
So we look over the restaurant and there’s only a few seats empty around one table that has leftovers from another group on it. So the lady at the counter has someone come clean it off rather quickly and we’re able to sit down.
At this point, I started feeling warm. It’s a September day in Texas, so it’s going to be hot, so I just chalk it up to the A/C just not being able to catch up with the weather outside and the amount of people inside. My husband and son went to get our drinks and they were out of sweet tea. No biggie. I’ll get soda instead.
And we wait. And wait some more. And some more. We start looking around and noticing that most of the tables around us don’t have food in front of them. Uh oh. “The food will be worth it” we tell ourselves. It’ll be fine.
More waiting. My husband gets so uncomfortable with the heat that he goes to stand outside. An hour and a half (not an exaggeration) later, our name is called and we go up to the counter.
The food was okay at best. My husband got the chicken fried steak. The gravy needed salt and the brussel sprouts had pretty much no flavor to them. I got the pot roast and it was okay flavor-wise but the mashed potatoes had way too much pepper on them.
In the end, we won’t be back. Another batch of tea was never made in the 2 hours we were there, the A/C isn’t powerful enough to combat the kitchen being in the dining room, and no one ever came to our table to check on us.
