Bagel Boy

Very different experience than the Minnesota Ave location. The bagels themselves taste good, but the experience wasn’t so great. Several staff seemed grumpy, although the gal on the register was very friendly. Staff not required to wear masks (mandate or not, this goes in line with “food safety” and “being a responsible community member”); sandwich maker literally coughed into his arm, didn’t wash his hands, and then helped the next customer. I was expecting coffee from The Breaks, as they serve at Minnesota Ave location, but this one served non-description gas station-like drip coffee and their espresso drinks were like the cheap hotel kind where you push a button for the cappuccino, latte, etc. And lastly, while I’m personally not offended by it, the Contemporary Christian background music seemed an oddly-secular choice. Sad that this place doesn’t compare the the Minnesota Ave location.

Bagel Boy has the best bagels I've ever tried! Way better than the big chains (ie Einstein & Panera). I visited this location at 10ish on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet (I usually visit the Minnesota one on my work break at 10ish and it's much busier). The drive thru was closed (I'm guessing due to short staff, I only saw 2 employees) so I went inside and ordered a sub dried tomato with veggie cream cheese. The employees were polite and I got my bagel quickly. Just the right amount of cream cheese and the bagel was tasty!

I love bagel boy in Sioux Falls, but if you want an actual great experience please go to the one on Minnesota. I have visited this location time and time again and have had my sandwich made wrong practically every time, and not a single person knows how to smile or greet people friendly at this location. Everyone always looks incredibly upset to be at work. The location on Minnesota is amazing I’ve never had a bad experience my sandwich is never been wrong. I wish I could say the same about this location. I will drive out of my way to go to the Minnesota location instead of this one.

I had only ever had breakfast here and wasn't sure what to get for lunch. The lady behind the counter suggested the Philly as if she read my mind. I watched her meticulously craft this perfect sandwich while I paid for it. I got it to go and it immediately filled my car with the auroma of chopped onions and gooey cheese. It took everything in me to not pull over and devour this sandwich.

I frequent the location on 26th more often than the location on South Minnesota. It's more convenient and the owners are welcoming. It's unfortunate that they had to close their drive-thru window has that contributed immensely to their business. They've curbed their hours and days of operation and now there not so neighborly Cherry Creek grill has blockaded their common pass-through parking lot that has made it even more difficult to park when Bagel boy is crowded. Haven't been to Cherry Creek in a few months. With kitchen staff issues, supply shortages and long waits for service, we drive across town for chicken wings and beer.
