A fun time in Simi Valley, California. When you arrive at Junkyard you will see signage instructing you to go up the hill. At the top of the hill are two old trucks advertising the restaurant. Inside we were greeted and seated. The menu is delightful...I posted a photo of it. The TVs are on sports and news. The music was fun and not too loud. Our beverages arrived quickly. I finally decided on the beer battered fish sandwich. It was nicely prepared with a delicate balance of flavors. The fries were very good. Barc had half a chicken sandwich with the soup of the day, tomato basil. He liked both. Our drinks were refilled and a container was provided for the leftover fries. All during our meal we were noticing more and more interesting junk. It would be a good place for those three generation meals.

Food is good, the large $13 mimosas could be a little stronger or less expensive though. Kids love this place, so I'd recommend it for taking kids out...fun place and they love the decor. Service was...acceptable. The same jokes got old the second, third and fourth times they were repeated though. Service was also slow and the restaurant was not crowded, not an issue for me but don't go there in a hurry.
Best Place in Simi Valley. This is the best place to go, the food is excellent the people are wonderful . Alot going on as far as entertainment. the oweners Eveyln & Tony ar great people and always make you feel welcome. I call it my "CHEERS" everyone knows you and they even know what you drink. This was the first restaurant I came to when I came up from Indio Calif. I will continue to go there so comfortable and I have ordered just about everything on their menu and oh so good..All made fresh..

Funky, Fun, Fab Food. When I first read all the reveiws below, some quite negative, I hesitated to take my bride there. However, when two of her non-Simi Valley buds raved about the food and the fun they had, we opted to give it a try. We went there for lunch, about 1:00 pm. Note: for those familiar with the area, they are in what used to be Paul's Italian restaurant - above and behind Loves Hot Dogs. Parking lot was not quite full but still a couple of good spots left. Even though they were busy, we were greeted and seated fairly quickly. Very pleasant atmosphere. We were still checking out all the Junk stuff in the entrance and on the way to our table when we spotted a couple of things hanging from the wall that brought back great memories from decades ago. The menu is a trip in itself. Obviously, somebody had a lot of fun creating the loose-leaf binder full of graphics and what sounded like super options. To be on the safe side, I stuck with a burger and my better half opted for fish and chips. Both were served hot and tasty. Our drinks were kept full and fresh and the wait staff, dressed in super funk, were fun and efficient. The people in the booths and tables around us seemed to be having a lot of fun and the chatter level was high. There was even a large group that seemed to be having a ball in a special set-up just off the main aisle. We returned a couple of days later for breakfast and the menu and food was just as good this second visit. Even the toast was hot, which is quite rare anymore so they impressed me once again. We will be back and I would suggest those who wrote the negatives, give them another shot... they really have their act together.
Love it!!!!. I went here for the 1st time when it was opened for 3 days at the new location on cochran (I have lived in Simi my whole life and never heard of this place before). I LOVED it!!! It is unique and different. I have been back several times, and will continue to go back. There breakfast is amazing. Portions are HUGE (which I don't need)! My kids love this place as well, even though there is no kids menu.....we found kid friendly food items. Can't wait to go back!!
Great for little kids. My children (6,4, & 2) love this place. The servers are nice to them and there is plenty of stuff on the walls to keep them distracted and entranced while we eat.
The food is good, too. I can only speak for breakfast. They do a great job with eggs, pancakes, and french toast and have some really good unique specials.

is delicious!! lots of variety to choose from in food and prices.

bit quirky, but fun. very casual and fun. service is great and
tony and evelyn who own it are usually there and happy to
greet and talk with their customers and eager to learn what
they like and don't like! both lots of fun!
This place is soo rad 2 beers awesome shirimp pasta and three deserts later sooo deeeelish!!!
Haven't had a bad meal yet. But, try the Homemade Desserts!. I would have never known this place existed if friends hadn't told me about it. Nestled in a relatively quiet strip mall. Come as you are atmosphere and attitude! Homestyle cooking, ice cold beer, fresh potato chips and lots of "junk" to look at. If you want stuffy and formal, forget it! You'll ruin the atmosphere. Come here to chill, slow down and have some great food! Try to leave room for the desserts, they are AWESOME!
This is a fantastic, eclectic, restraunt. They have a little bit of everything so everyone in your party should find something they absolutely love on the menu. Perfect for family's.
Very eclectic spot with lots of "junk", for lack of a better term. Lots of outside seating and plenty of parking. Inside is where you go to get the full experience, lots to look at while you eat or drink. Food is good, very large menu. Had the JY Burrito with sausage and hashbrowns, all very good. Service is prompt and friendly.
Good was really good. We had pizza, hamburger and BLT. Drive was good. Our waitress kept checking on us which is always nice. Definitely will return. I liked the ambience.
Junkyard knocks it out of the park. Dont be scared of the 100 page menu because its all great..take a chance and close your eyes..and open book and just point....you wont be upset...this is a must try joint...Junkyard ..yea if you leave hungry...its your fault...huge servings..and the wings were great..
My friend and I went here for breakfast. Got seated quickly. Waitress was nice. Food came out in a timely manner.
The food? Oh. My. GOD. The waffle tasted JUST like a churro--just be warned it's VERY sugary, but it's SO GOOD. I'm gonna die from the sugar but it'll be so worth it.
My friend got the bacon wrap filet benedict. She was in LOVE. Steak was cooked perfectly.
tl;dr food is great, service is good, prices are good. Get some breakfast and chill.
The best bacon wrapped filet eggs Benedict I've ever had. The atmosphere is amazing. The bottomless mimosas was a great ending to my wonderful Sunday with my husband.
Wish we would have found this place sooner…. We visited Simi Valley for 2 weeks and went to a couple other local bars that weren’t for us and then came across Junkyard… The bartender Mark was great, very personable. They have a huge menu and the food is awesome. We will definitely be back when in town.
