I loved the historic feel of the place, there was so much to look at. We ordered wings for an appetizer they were crunchy and the sauce on them was the perfect spice. The chicken sandwich was delicious the lettuce and tomatoes gave it the crunch making it perfect!!! The patty melt on rye was cooked
Bear cafe was VERY GOOD. We rode the Silverton train, we arrived late and only a few stores, 3 cafe was open due to it being the end of the season. Needless to say, it was packed. My husband and I had the Reuben...best I've ever had. The waitresses worked as I see them shifting from table to table.
Stopped for breakfast before leaving town and wished we had eaten there earlier. My coffee was never half empty and service was very friendly. We even got some good advice from locals to plan our next trip.
Western feeling environment with old saloon style bar. Service was decent. My green chile cheeseburger was really tasty. It was flame broiled & we had a view of the flames coming off the grill in the kitchen. That made the burger for me. The green chile was ok but not super flavorful. Their soup of
Mountain home cooking... best home made mushroom soup, and french dip was so tender and not salty.... staff was very helpful and accommodating. Reasonably priced... and great historical building.
Brown Bear in Silverton is really nice and well run. The food was great! We got the hamburger. Really good. The staff was great too! The staff told us the history of the front and back bar. Great story.
Amazing staff, great food and a wonderful service, can't wait to comeback, ask for the daily special...wonderful coffee, wish that every restaurant had people like they do...
An absolutely fantastic place to eat and I highly recommend the reuben. Our server, Alice, was kind and friendly, and was obviously enjoying herself. She went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful.
