My cat was in a fight with a cat on our street I needed a vet. I called a few with long wait times and very rude unhelpful people. When I called third street it was like a miracle happened they women at the front desk was so helpful they brought us right in and gave me a quote for my cats procedures. MY CAT WAS LOOKED AT VERY QUICKLY AND THEY MADE MY MIND AT EASE KNOWING WHAT EXACTLY THEY WERE DOING. Upon pick up my cost for procedures done were much lower then thought... I would recommend this vet to anyone. LOVING CARING FAST POLITE AND CONSIDERATE. AND LOVE THE BIRD IN THE LOBBY

Love 3rd street vet and Doctor Barbara. We were referred to them after we moved to the area and are very pleased. They treat us and our pets with respect and genuinely care about them. We have had 2 other vets in the past, and the wait time is about the same here as it was there. Sometimes you can be taken in at your appointment time and others it's a wait due to emergencies arising. To me thats wonderful because if ever I'm in an emergency situation, I would want to be ushered ahead of routine exams too. Prices are very reasonable and she will use her time helping find you the cheapest medicine as well. When our dog was diagnosed with diabetes, Doc and her nurse spent 20 mins looking for insulin that we could afford. You don't get that kind of service just anywhere.

I brought my pup in with a snake bite to her nose, face was all swollen. Doc took one look at her and explained what was going on, and that she was gonna be ok with a regime of antibotics. The front nurse gave her shot to help with swelling and my lil pup didnt yelp. The staff is professional curteous and you get the feeling they care when you walk in. 5 stars

Updated 2/22/2022. Finally got the results of the NC Vet Board investigation. This will not bring my girl back, but hopefully no other family will endure the pain my family has suffered. Attached are the results. My very sick dog died here. She was obviously not going to survive, but for some reason, Dr. Walton wanted to keep her. I specifically asked was euthanasia best, as I had an appt for in-home euthanasia scheduled for that evening. My dog died, alone, at the vet and without pain meds. I wasn't notified until 2 hours after her death. Upon notification, I was told that she was declining rapidly that morning and that she meant to call me but she got busy. How do you forget to call someone and tell them this? Why do you wait 2 hours to call after the fact? I will never trust this office with another pet. Not to mention, the abrasiveness of the reception staff is horrendous. Yes, it was cheap, but I would've paid a lot more for honesty and some common kindness.

Love these people. Dr. Walton is the most compassionate and caring doctor I’ve ever seen. You can tell she is in this profession for all the right reasons. She never over charges and will always help weigh out all possible options. This is a small family owned practice and it feels so welcoming every time I’ve been there. They treat their patients like family and I would never take my pet elsewhere. Wonderful place, wonderful people.

The receptionist is very rude. I am not a confrontational person, I believe in peace and love to all, but the receptionist here got me so upset I raised my voice. They speak down to people and go out of the way to make you feel unwelcome. A receptionist is the first line of contact at the vet and should be polite to the people who are coming in. The vet can be a worrying place to go to, your pet may be sick or injured and that usually makes people worried. If you are already in a vulnerable state of mind being "greeted" with hostility and dismissiveness is not a good experience. That is what I got upon my visit. My visit didn't get any better while I was there. The veterinarian herself does not stay in contact with patients regarding the condition of their loved ones. My pets are my entire world and I was sent home with the promise of a phone call and was forgotten about. I understand that there may be a lot of animals coming in and out of her care, but her forgetting to give me a call and tell me my pet is okay is inexcusable. She told me not to worry and that she would call me. I stayed up all night, wracked with worry and fear. And her reason behind not giving me a call? She forgot. My cat is my whole world. And she was forgotten about. Thankfully she is fine but I can say I will never come back to this vet. I have been left with an awful memory of my time here. Please, find another vet to go to.

Thankful for Dr. Walton and all her kindness over the years- I am also taken back at how quickly we are worked in when we call because we think of our animals as family and Dr. Walton treats them as such. I have recommended all my friends and family to Dr. Walton because the time she takes and listens to all of our concerns is the type of vet every animal deserves.
