Chuy's

The food here has been great for the past 2+ decades that I've been going. Service can be slow at times, and the pandemic has only made that worse in recent years, but the staff is still usually pleasant. Expect to spend about an hour or more here if going for a Sunday afternoon lunch. The prices are fair; usually around $60 for four meals with an appetizer and a couple of teas. I'd recommended this place to anyone.

Let me start with I love Chuy’s not ROACHES ! Being from NM it’s a must for Hatch peppers. I frequent the one in Austin when there and the one closest to me in Pasadena, it’s the best one. I have been to this location several times as well, when attending a concerts at the woodlands. Sad to say I will not return to this one. We were seated at a booth with drinks and chips and dips when a HUGE Roach ( every bit of 3 inches long ) crawled up on our table, wing stretched out like he owned the place, he was a resident, not moving fast at all! Girls will be girls, We freaked , yelled and jumped out the booth. It continued crawling up the wall behind a picture right at our table! Once we found someone to tell them what the commotion was about , a employee climbed in our booth and tried squish him behind the picture. He was unable to. They expected us to remain seated there. We had to let them know we were moving, totally grossed out we moved clear to the other side of the room to a table in the middle , not next to any walls, to wait for our food that we had already ordered . WE had to moved all our drinks and chips and dips , plates ect. to new table, No help from any staff. As we were eating, on ANOTHER wall next to some other customers ANOTHER BIG Roach made its way down the wall from behind another picture, to under that booth. The people at that booth moved too after telling the staff about it. We were never saw a manager, No apology, No nothing. They sat more customers in the corner right under the picture with the HUGE roach behind it! Now on edge, not really wanting to eat the rest of our meals, we asked for the check, thinking we would see a manager now…. NOPE! Looking around at place the floors were dirty , under the booths did not look like they had been mopped in a long time. Walls along booth tables were dirty as well. I’m sure there was lots more roaches behind more pictures, in and under booths and tables. We paid our whole bill and left, never to return to this location. Had a send forth dinner for a friend. The food is really good. If you are hungry, don't feed on the tortilla chips and dips they offer at first. The dips are so delicious, you just keep eating, and when your order comes in, you might be too full!!! Go very hungry. Large portions. The margaritas are amazing! Really yummy 😋

This review is solely based on customer service and the 2 drinks I ordered. I didn’t order any food. I did order a top shelf grand ma margarita and a skinny margarita with don julio. This was my first time at chuy’s I don’t think I will be returning just because the bar is literally non existent. If you like pre made frozen margaritas then this is the spot. I personally don’t like the frozen stuff. I did order an old fashion, and y’all know I LOVE an old fashion but it didn’t make the cut. I must say the bartender Jay and his colleague went the extra mile to make it happen. I did witness first head a waiter came back to bar to return a drink that had “something” in it, and all the did was spoon out the “something” and returned the drink to the table.

My wife and I visited on 5-2-22. We had such a great experience! I can’t remember our waiter’s name, but we were in the main dining room at the four top tables in the middle. He did a fantastic job and offered drink options for my wife that weren’t even on the menu. Our food was amazing as well. So compliments all around on a fantastic and affordable dinner!

This place is a must visit for anyone looking for a good TexMex place to eat at. The food is delectable and there are so many options to choose from the basic Soft/Hard taco plate to the massive fajita platter with everything from guacamole to sour cream and everything in between. The reason it’s a 4 star is because the service is sometimes lousy but overall very great food and atmosphere would 100% recommend.
