My husband and I shared a pepperoni roll sandwich and the BLT for lunch today. The pepperoni roll was absolutely stuffed with pepperoni and the bread was soft and delicious. The BLT was fresh and the bacon was crispy. We got clearanced cinnamon bread which still tasted good, but the star of the visit was the strawberry turnover. Soft, flaky, and the filling was so sweet and tasted homemade. Sassafras is a bit off the road and we missed it at first, but it's definitely worth the stop! We hope to be back on our next trip to Gatlinburg.
I have been wanting to check this place out, went today and picked up some key lime pie filling and some of the best cookies,I have ever eaten. Definitely will be visiting again. Maybe have lunch next time, they had a great menu..

Excellent Deli. Convenient location to RV park at 2 Rivers. The food is delicious. The owners are very friendly, courteous people. They make great sandwiches, pies and cakes. We really enjoy eating there and visiting with them. We tell all our friends to try it. Bill & Sam Miller
This family owned & operated business is outstanding. The staff is warm & welcoming, and the food is always fresh & delicious. Breads used to make sandwiches is baked fresh daily & they offer some of the freshest, tastiest baked desserts in the area. This is a personal favorite & is quite popular with locals so they can be busy at times. When my son comes home from the Army this is the 1st place he wants to go eat & we usually make several trips while he is home.
We got the cinnamon roll, apple turnover, and peach/apricot cheese boat. They were all good. Not overly sweet which we like. Small place but adequate seating and clean. Staff (I think they were the owners)are very nice. We got here around lunch time so I was a little disappointed that we missed a lot of bakery choices.
Family friendly welcoming place. Food is fresh and homemade. Friendliest people on the strip.
My wife and i had an Italian and BLT chips and a drink. Friendly family service, and very happy to meet new people. Even with two Oreo cake balls the total was 23$. I would move here if I could eat at Sassafras everyday.

Sandra was super wonderful! Baked goods are amazing! Sandra had us try the brown butter cookies....OmG!!! They were fantastic! We bought all of them so we could share them with our family.
We love sassafras. It has the best food and the soup! Yummy! You have too try the crossiant breakfast sandwich! 😄😄😄
