Very nice and clean place! The employees were all kind. All of the food was delicious!
Glad I heard about them in the fb groups so our family could go try a new place. We will recommend you to others, and we will visit again on future trips!
If you're reading this, be sure you get yourself the bread pudding for a dessert!
We had driven past PawPaw’s several times this week and kept saying we should give it a try. So today we finally did and we are so happy we did. Five of us dropped in around 2:00 pm.
The building and dining room is rustic, so it makes sense for this Louisiana country style fare. The server was really prompt and friendly. Everyone ordered various combinations of catfish and/or shrimp dinners. Here are the highlights:
The batter on the catfish and shrimp was great—lightly coated, nicely seasoned and fried just enough.
The french fries were hot, crispy, well seasoned and a fantastic alternative to a McDonald’s bag of short, stubby fries.
The only downside side was that the combination platters only had two hush puppies and the smaller entrees only had one. The hush puppies were so good we ALL wanted more! Fried just long enough. Really tasty with just enough corn kernels in the batter.
This place reinforces our approach of trying to find out where the locals eat wherever we go. If we get back to Pigeon Forge, we will be back. I definitely want to try the gumbo and desserts.
The service was great and very friendly. The place is absolutely clean! We tried the catfish platter and gator bites . The gator bites were delicious!!Their sauces were all soo good! The coleslaw was super fresh! The bread pudding is a must!!! Will be back on my next trip. Had to try it because my husband kept bragging about it from his last trip.
I have eaten alligator at a lot of places and this is the best. The Boudin balls are great too everything was good.
Such great food and service! Can’t wait to try again when we come back for a visit!
Had the boudin balls and catfish. The catfish was probably the best I've had in Tennessee. Loved the atmosphere, reminded me of all my time working in South Louisiana.
Passing through and stopped in by chance... what a great find! Shrimp po'boy and catfish/shrimp basket. Well worth the stop, and will go back if in this area again.
Took a chance on this place since it was the first time we came to the Smoky Mountains. It was an excellent choice! Service was great & food excellent! We both had the catfish basket with french fries. I had Cole slaw & my husband had baked beans. Cole slaw was a little strong with vinegar but it went well with the catfish. Loved this place!
Loved the whole experience! We had crab cakes for appetizers, fried catfish and shrimp for our entrees, and white chocolate bread pudding. Everything was so delicious, but the white chocolate bread pudding was absolutely amazing. We’re excited to go back and try other items on the menu. So happy we found this local gem in Wears Valley!
Food was so good . I’m actually from New Orleans and it exceeded my expectations. We even ordered food to go after dining in. The owner even came out and talked to us. Wish it was close. Can’t wait to go back.
