We stop going to Mexican Restaurants in USA long time ago simply because the taste sucks! Last night in Sur 16 I had esquites, chiles rellenos, ceviche and churros con cajeta, WOW you can't get more real...sorry no chimichangas or burritos there. If you are looking for an authentic mexican dinning experience this is the place, I felt like I was eating in my moms dinning room! Great service, really good food and a family business that I'm sure will have all the success in the world!
This place is absolutely incredible.
Spacious restaurant, friendly, informative staff, modestly-priced and well-crafted cocktail drinks. The food gives me so much hope for Mexican food in Seattle. Please stick around awhile.

The space is chic and spacious. Chips and salsa were stellar and the powder they coat the chips in is amazing. The mushroom tacos were delicious. Great service tops off a good meal--taste wise.
Dislikes:
They could fit their 10 page menu onto 3 pages. The chip bowl came with a stingy 12 chips and I was still a little hungry after eating 3 smallish tacos. The horchata tasted like it wasn't home made and the ikea wall decal was a bit tacky.
Overall the food was great and the ambiance is a nice addition to 15th.
My extended family gathered at Sur 16 to celebrate my daughter's graduation from UW. The service was spot on, friendly, fast and very supportive. It was like their family hosted my family. The food was beautiful and delicious. Drinks were fab, too. Really appreciated everything. Thank you!
This place was open for a few months in my neighborhood before I took a chance and popped in for lunch. I missed out on months of good eating. Sur 16 serves delicious, authentic Mexican dishes in a pleasing setting.
I'm mexican. I can tell they served 110% authentic Mexican food , great experience you have to try it. ( if you want burritos go to a taco truck or Texas )
Tasty food but the restaurant feels like it's in a dance hall. They don't offer burritos and were somewhat taken aback when I asked for one.
The ceviche tastes really good, most likely like Mexican one and mojito too
