Decent ice cream, I think it would have been better if I had gotten one of the flavors the guy behind the counter had recommended. Supposedly the peanut butter, snickerdoodle, the beer flavors are the best

Salted caramel ice cream is quite salty and puzzlingly complex for how light it first seems -- a wonderful achievement. Both the PB and chocolate chunk are deeply flavorful without the common mistake of overloading on the featured ingredients. These flavors remember that they are still ice cream, after all. Lovingly crafted. The sparse, funky/junky atmosphere disguises some real sophistication behind the counter, so that you feel like you've stumbled onto an undiscovered gem.

I must admit, I was skeptical of another ice cream joint on the hill but this place blew me away. Old School Frozen Custard and Molly Moon's have surprisingly been outdone by Bluebird in the taste of the ice cream, atmosphere & friendliness of staff (seems like a great bunch). The ice cream is like nothing I've ever had... the Elysian stout flavor is particularly unique and delicious. The space has lots of character and just makes you want to spend time there. Make no mistake, Bluebird has chosen to compete in many areas (ice cream, tea, coffee & free wifi, locally grown/produced foods, live music) but makes no compromises. They have carved out a niche all their own on the hill.

The smell coming out the doors and windows of this place is stellar. The Ice Cream is fresh, inventive, and changes with the season. The space is also a great place, full of games to play with friends. There's also a pretty good draft beer selection. They work with a lot of different businesses in the area to source their flavors, from Stumptown Coffee, Theo Chocolate, to Elysian Brewery.

Me and the family popped in here tonight, what a great little place. Together we had the chocolate pudding, vanilla bean, and the salted caramel I've cream. Based on our experience and the small taste of the marionberry ice cream I can strongly recommend this parlor.

I was surprised not to find a line out the door like I've seen with most icecream places in Seattle. The chocolate pudding and salted caramel icecream were so good! The one scoop is a great size for an after dinner treat. They had board games as well, but I just came for the icecream. The guy working there was super helpful and looked up ingredients because of an allergy.

Atomsphere: hip/cool plenty of space to sit down-located in nice area. Staff: was really friendly and wanting to help! Ice cream: lots of vegan ice cream!!! Awesome flavor and yummy!!!!! Definitely recommend a stop there!

Bluebird serves up some really good ice cream! The scoops are big and the texture is perfect. The atmosphere is calm, similar to a bookstore. You can get your coffee and ice cream here anytime. I love the olympia marionberry, pumpkin series and candied ginger. There's alot to choose from so you might have to come back and try all the other flavors!

I'm not too sure about the raves I've heard about this place. I'm more of a creamy ice cream person so I went for the snickerdoodle that was freshly made a few minutes before I got it, it melted way too quickly and became a huge mess and lots to eat for me. Will definitely give it another try though.

ok, new creamery favorite on capital hill. i'm mostly embarrassed that i've walked past this place for years and never really realized it was even here! so you go into the building entrance in the middle to get down into this basement windowed space. it's super charming. as in the painted and decorated like it's a cross between a college dorm, grandma's garage and a vintage record shop. LOVE! there are creepy old storage freezers everywhere but what they contain in small creamery magic. don't judge! this place is top notch and super chill. they are not snotty like most portland high end food places... well, any portland food place typically ;) an ipad on a vintage register, old glass case cooler, multiple stages of someone's master plan to paint any given wall in the place, hand made bottle lights. this place is charm without actually caring if you like it. please give them a shot, they're legit and have been doing this for longer than i even knew! new fav.
