Review The Halal Guys - Seattle

Discovering The Halal Guys in Seattle was a delightful surprise, bringing back fond memories of my first taste in NYC three years ago. Finally, I can indulge in their mouthwatering halal cuisine right here in Seattle. The restaurant offers indoor seating, allowing guests to savor their flavorful dishes in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The star of the show is undoubtedly their legendary hot sauce. Its perfect balance of heat and flavor adds an irresistible kick to every bite, elevating the entire dining experience. The combination of gyro and chicken is a match made in heaven, offering a delightful contrast of textures and savory flavors. Each bite is a harmonious blend of tender meat and fragrant spices. Don't miss out on the enticing array of sides and desserts. The baklava is a sweet and flaky delight, while the falafel and pita chips provide delightful crunch and depth of flavor. The Halal Guys have truly brought their culinary prowess to Seattle, offering an authentic taste of their renowned halal cuisine. It's a must-visit for both longtime fans and newcomers alike, promising a satisfying and memorable dining experience.

Stopped for a quick bite. I got the chicken platter. It was really nice with the white garlic sauce and quite filling as well. Decent portions for the price. The lady at the counter was very friendly and courteous! Will be dropping by again

We had Combo platters. It tastes good. It included both beef and chicken. It is really good that toppings and veggies can be of our choice. The red sauce is tooooo spicy. My husband usually likes extra- hot and spicy sauce, but even he couldn't have it. The server definitely warned us about the sauce, though. The quantity is really very generous and filling. There's sitting space both inside and outside.

Seattle’s first taste of the Famous Newyork food truck sensation, now a series of fast food chains across US. The chicken bowl was great, layered with beautifully flavoured pilaf rice, wonderfully cooked chicken, and a great sauce. One of the best I have had, not just in Seattle but across, service was quick & friendly, definitely my first, but not my last visit here.

I got the family meal (gyro meat and falafel) for the great quarantine of 2020. 🤣 It was delicious! And a great amount for the price! The baklava is the best I've ever had, thank you! (Note: there is no need for you to buy EXTRA sauce) And that hot sauce is no joke it might actually be the spiciest the on Seattle.

This Halal Guys is not as good as 53rd and 6th in NYC, but it comes close enough. I have no idea what people are saying about it being slow, other than the first day, as I walked in on a Monday afternoon and was in and out in probably a minute. I understand there being lines as it just opened up and there still is a lot of hype. The white sauce is the same, hot sauce is the same and is just as hot, rice is the same, pita is the same, and the chicken is almost as good and isn't dry at all (it's more dry in NYC). I don't understand the complaints - it put a smile on my face and took me back to NYC. Price is $13 which is quite a big difference from NYC, but I understand having a brick & mortar store in downtown Seattle costs more to rent and operate than a tiny food truck. Maybe people don't understand it's not meant to be a fancy looking dish? It always visually looks like a mess, and it's supposed to. Go, enjoy, realize it's not meant to be pretty looking, eat, you won't regret it. Edit: I went again and staff do not concentrate on the customer and don't listen to your order. I had problems with two orders not being correct in a row, so I bumped this to a 4/5.

5/5 rating for this. their chicken is the best ! Wish they had more items on their menu. Liked this place in Seattle downtown. Add hot sauce only if you can take the spiciness.

Wow! What a delicious sandwiches! All Halal, one sandwich is big enough to make you full to the rest of the day. Fast and great service! Must try if you are around 😉 nice staff running the property. recommend it

I've always wanted to try Hala Guys and I'm so glad I finally did. The cashier was really nice and I'm happy to say, she was correct in saying the hot sauce was spicy. I loved every second of it! Been having a hard time finding actually spicy food and this hit the spot 👌🏾

Not as good as NY cart, but nonetheless it is decent. Location is in a shady place, hope they open at another location in Seattle. Small place with limited seating area. They do not have the sauce packets which are so popular, they just put the sauce from the bottle and no extra sauce is given.

Great platter real great Sharma and platter - their white sauce is magic of this place but date to try red chilli hot sauce :) let me know what you think about that

I wasn't sure about the hype given that they are a national chain. But I went to the Seattle store's grand opening and found that their reputation is deserved. I had the combo platter (chicken and beef) with extra falafel on the side. It was well cooked - the meats blended well together with the lettuce and tomato. The white sauce and red sauce are both as good as advertised, they add a spicy kick to the food. The falafel was spicy as well. For as crowded as it was yesterday service was fast and I was able to find a spot at the counter. The owner even came by and asked if I wanted more white sauce (I did, and he put more on). It is great, and worth a stop.

After passing by this place multiple times while enjoying a weekend in Seattle and smelling a delicious smell, we finally decided to try it for dinner. The chicken gyro was hot and fresh, had nice flavor, the White Sauce was tasty and the red sauce had my mouth on fire! Had a leftover one for lunch and it tasted just as good cold. We will definitely be back!

The food was not that good, staff are really rushing you, location is not very convenient and a lot pricey than NY. Also the guy banging on the grill to shred the chicken is creating much much noise than needed in a food place!

I had the combo beef/chicken platter. It tasted good however the steep $12 price is almost double what they charge in NYC. I can understand the owners trying to make a quick return on their investment but $12 for a plate is a little outrageous.

Ive been blessed to eat alot of great mediterranean food in my life. Halal guys...i would never go back to your yesler store. Food was cold and old, like it had been sitting in the warmers for hours with no heat beneath, meat was crusty and old tasting, not fresh at all. Too much paprika on the hummus and babaganuj. Total waste of money, didnt even eat half of what we ordered. Great name but not so halal food.

Good gyro platter. Nice stop in Pioneer Square. I would definitely recommend.

Well, it was average to be honest. Ordered a chicken gyro sandwich and a regular chicken combo. The sauces were being put really cautiously, probably because of the opening day rush. Hence, the usual taste was missing. Hope they work on their skills to listen to their customer's needs. If he/she says put extra sauce, just put extra sauce. Expectation were really high, but I might as well opt for a Chicken burrito elsewhere. Don't see no "Have to have it" craving for this place.

I was so excited for this place to open, and was so disappointed once it did. The food was dry, over cooked and not very flavorful. There is much better Middle Eastern food available in Pioneer Square for less money.

It's is all about that white and hot sauce. Do they serve the best Beef or Chicken Gyro meat? Probably not...There are other Mediterranean places that can give you better flavored protein but no one else beats the total package once you try one of their platters with everything on it. Also their salad, rice and bread in the platters at Halal Guys is always fresh. Don't be afraid pour on that White and Hot Red Sauce and put your tastes buds to work. Make sure you grab a drink because you will definitely need it once that hot sauce puts your mouth on fire... So glad this finally opened up in Seattle. Won't have to bother my family and friends to bring it for me from NYC. This familiar comfort food will be the regular spot now. Seattle is moving on up. Let's hope for Halal Nando's next...

Best NYC comfort food out there. Living right up on First Hill, this could get dangerous for me. Beef/lamb Platter. Add onions. Extra, extra White Sauce w/ a hint of Red Sauce. Boom...done. Life is perfect. Seriously, do yourself a favor and go. Great food. I take it to my favorite Pioneer Square pub, grub there and enjoy it with a cold pint.

good food. good service. reducing 1 star because of the price. nobody expects to pay $13+ for a plate of halal guys .. & without lamb

Meh. Waited for a long time (2hrs ) on opening day for food that was barely flavored. I am gf free so omitted the rice and pita. I had the combo and added falafel. I am lucky to be familiar with what real Mediterranean food tastes like this was pretty darn bland. I will say that every staff member I came into contact with was more than pleasant and helpful. But will I return? Nope.

The place isn't supposed to be officially open until Friday but as I was passing by to catch my bus, I saw employees getting trained and so decided to go inside. I ordered a beef gyro and it was one of the best I've ever tasted. I'm just glad that I was able to enjoy it before the long lines start on the opening day. I bet its gonna look like the long lines to the Krispy Kreme when it first opened in Issaquah. Oh and if you're bold enough, you'll need a fire hose and a large cup of soda to enjoy their hot sauce.

Great food; however, this location is highly disorganized - often closing *during the middle of lunch* for catering orders without any notice, which wastes everyone's time.

I usually have to fly to NYC to get my fix of the Halal Guys combo platter, accessorized with their (OMG!) white sauce. So thrilled that it tastes exactly like my usual order. Do yourself a favor and check it out! Added bonus is the really friendly staff that are excited to feed us.

Be sure to get extra white sauce, I didn't and it wasn't quite enough. Also beware of the red sauce,it tastes of heat and pain. A very little goes a long way. Get it on the side and only add a drop or two when you need to punish yourself.
