Food was very average but lots of vegetarian options and the portions sizes were huge as well.. It was great to sit out on the patio though and the ambiance was very chilled out.
At least one great dish and a great atmosphere and I am happy: here that is a wet chicken burrito (made with some secret crack-like addicting ingredient!!) and a basket of chips and salsa. Add a Negra Modelo and your set. I love the funky lively atmosphere. If your chips aren't fresh and warm ask for another basket because they are amazing. I have made a bad habit of going here after cocktails at Oliver's Twist. A small burrito is enough to split between my boyfriend and I. Makes for a delicious, fun, and cheap night out.
Forever A Favorite. This is my first favorite for comfort food. Cheese enchiladas for me and vegan cheese for my guy. It's a perfect place for a meat eating/vegan couple to contently fill their bellies.

The Enchaladas are where it's at!. It's something that's in the enchilada sauce. I always ask for extra and use it as a dip for each and every bite. The food is phenomenal and the staff is very friendly. We've had a couple of experiences that were a bit frustrating because if miscommunications regarding our order but the food and the vibe always makes up for it.

No goat sucking or mange at the El Chupacabra!. El Chupacabra was a fun little experience!
Nothing will grab my attention more than a place naming itself after a cryptozoology creature. The Chupacabre was a creature similar to Bigfoot and allegedly sucked the blood out goats Puerto Rico. As years went on more sightings were reported in Maine, Russia, the Philippines and Chile. There is a lack of evidence to prove if the Chupacabre exists and is usually concluded to be other animals attacking goats and other livestock. Some vets say that the other critters attacking the livestock are afflicted with mange.
But there is no mange or goat sucking going on at the El Chupacabra restaurant. My experience here was quite pleasant! Sure they have all kinds of pictures of what the El Chupacabre is reportedly supposed to look like. He is on t-shirts and the hot sauce bottles. Kind of a nasty cute little guy. The atmosphere of the place reminds me of a hip eating place one may dine at in Santa Fe or Taos. It has a delightful atmosphere.
I ordered a pork burrito with green sauce. The burrito is huge but I was hungry and cleared my plate in the end. They have yummy chips and salsa too!

I would go back for sure! If nothing else to buy a t-shirt with the little monster on it. The food was good, I am not complaining at all however I want to try many more Mexican restaurants in the area still. I haven't quite found a favorite yet.
Go for your friends birthday. Be annoyed at the wait for a table. Get a margarita (get me the spicy one!!). Wait more. Get another margarita (wait, did I eat lunch today? Should slow down on the drinks...). Get seated. Order. Wait longer (how long have we BEEN here?Order me another marg while I hit the restroom). Eat the delicious Mexican food with another margarita. Order one more drink while waiting for the bill. Stumble into a cab...El Chupacabra wins again. Two people can get comfortably numb and dinner for about $70, but you'll never get those three hours back...
Top Notch Burritos. The food here is fantastic, and all tables come fully stocked with five or six different hot-sauces, all tasty. Burritos are available with a large selection of meats, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Drinks are about average, and the jukebox is a diverse combination of punk, indie, and metal. The staff are hit or miss - I've had down to earth servers who earned large tips, and crass kids who exude an air of superiority. It's dark, fun, delicious and cheap, just cross your fingers and flip a coin for a decent waitress.
It's in the Sauce. I had a wet chicken tinga burrito for dinner last night. The red sauce is perfect with a robust chile flavor, and the assortment of house-made table sauces are a nice touch. Nothing on my plate came from a can, the service was excellent, and even though I was wearing a suit I didn't feel out of place among the hipsters. Cheap, decent margaritas were a bonus.
Mixed reviews. The food was amazing but the staff are rude and make you feel like you are wasting their time.

What a great little joint. Very interesting art and decor. Kind of a Mexi-Punk Rock theme. The salsa was a fresh pico de gallo. My Burrito, filled with carnitas, was excellent. I will definitely be back.

Tacos are really nice and juicy with a solid meat portion. I got the 3 tacos. I love that they label the GF and Vegan items. It makes me feel confident it what I'm ordering. My friend ordered the Torta. He said it was delicious but not as good as a random taco truck he stopped at on the way home from Leavenworth this summer. The group really loved the Jalapeño poppers and the kids gobbled up the adult portion of cheese quesedilla. I like the Alki Beach location better, for the view, but this is a great option when coming from the north. The staff were very friendly and accommodating! Will definitely be back. Thanks Pheobe!

I’ve gone late at night to sit at the bar with a girlfriend and have a drink at the end of a long week. I’ve gone at dinner time with family to enjoy a really delicious and filling meal when we didn’t feel like cooking. The prices are reasonable at $15 a burrito and $3 for chips and delicious salsa. The dips are fantastic and filling. If you don’t believe me try the queso dip, and the black bean dip.
The nachos are an outstanding option here, and seemingly irresistible: it’s impossible for people not to reach over and enjoy it with you. Try it with the Carnitas, if you are not a vegetarian.
If you don’t, normally, I would highly recommend you try having a burrito wet. Ask for both green and red sauce is.
The fish burrito is excellent and comes with a white cheese sauce akin to the queso. And when, in doubt order the scratch margarita. But if you can handle some heat, the jalapeño margaritas, my favorite.
Great outdoor area for eating if you’re concerned about being indoors. Heating and comfortable.

Meh. The salsa was super runny, it was impossible to get any salsa to stay on the chip so it was like dipping your chip in salsa water. It was strange. I didn’t mind the guacamole but my friend thought it was too much lime. We over heard the table next to us say the same thing. The queso was delicious. Rice and beans had no flavor. Tacos were okay. Drinks were fine. Service was fine, they were super busy, could use some more help. The dessert we got was tortilla strips with cinnamon sugar and Carmel, this was delicious but got boring and dry immediately without anything to dip or a scoop of ice cream. Over priced for the quality of food. So plain. Probably Won’t be returning - (Nov. 2022)
I returned….. at least 3 times since my original visit. The salsa seemed to have been a fluke, it’s been delicious every other time. I refuse to fork over the money to try the guacamole again, $5-$6 just doesn’t seem worth it. The Queso is good. Enchiladas are good, cheese and carnita. On one occasion the waitress offered us the choice of green or red sauce or both; I got half and half and discovered I prefer the green! They only offered that on one visit. The margaritas are consistently good. Love the option for outdoor seating. They are not dog friendly, so this really brings the environment down. It’s a very small restaurant so I do actually understand. Maybe dogs under 20lbs? 😂
Lovely place, burrito bowl and wet burrito were fantastic- unfortunately only one hot sauce that was spicy enough to be called spicy (the habanero), but delicious nonetheless ✨️
Up the street we had a bad experience at a bar so we came in here, and it was a total 180. The staff was way more friendly, the drinks were awesome & the food was superb! Thank you so much for turning our day around for the better(:
I've been going here for years! The burritos are huge and so good. All the delicious flavors all together in one wrap. Count me in! When I need a burrito fix this is my place! It's small inside so you may have to wait a bit. They also have an outdoor patio which is lovely when the sun comes up. I love their homemade salsas and sauce that comes on the burritos. Get your burrito wet! They also have happy hour daily from 4-6 & 10-midnight daily.
One of my favorite spots for Mexican food in Seattle! I've been to El Chupacabra about a dozen times and it keeps delivering great food. Everything I've tried here is delicious! As a vegetarian, I love that there are so many options for meat-alternatives. Their homemade salsas are phenomenal and their margaritas are amazing!
I love the jalapeno poppers here so much! Best poppers around by far! I'm pretty sure no kids allowed it had signs saying 21 or older. The parking was a little hard to find for me but it was dark out and during rush hour so I bet it's not usually that difficult. I really love this place and the vibes here. I wish I took pics of my food to post but I didn't think of it until after I ate it lol!
Decent Mexican place in a city where I feel like sit-down Mexican restaurants aren’t common! I got a wet burrito, which unfortunately did not come with rice and beans on the side. Chips and salsa also cost extra.
In general, I feel like this place is good, but a little on the pricier side due to the ala cart way of ordering. It’s a great spot for a casual date (they play some rock and grunge), and have some interesting drink options that I’m curious to try. Outdoor seating is a plus too!
Decent spot for tacos. I tried 3 different tacos as a take out and they turned out pretty tasty and well sauced. It is great that they open late as well. I am not a fan of is how loud it gets inside (This is coming from someone who did not dine-in. Only went there to pick up food). However, some could argue that it is a very family friendly atmosphere for people with young kids.
