Stopped in for Monday prime rib. Excellent service, good food. A hidden little neighborhood jem.
I will be back!
I've been to Jak's Grill in the U-District plenty of times for Brunch. Yesterday I went there and had their Chorizo Benedict. I've had most of their Benedicts and Scrambles, but the Chorizo is one of my favorites. The poached eggs are stacked on Chorizo patties and bread with hollandaise sauce and pico de gallo salsa. The benedict is served with a side of Jak's potatoes. The poached egg and hollandaise sauce are good, and pretty much what I would expect in a good Benedict. What I really liked about this Benny is the flavorful Chorizo and the pico de gallo salsa. I suggest trying the Chorizo Benedict over the Crab or Classic Benedict, especially if you're a fan of Chorizo. I have always had good service at Jak's Grill. The staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs.
I love the steak and mash potato here but find the bread to be stale and salad to be very blah. The restaurant can be a bit too laud at times. A good place to go for a good old steak.
Great steaks - esp the Delmonico.
Salmon Oscar Delish. I had the salmon oscar at Jak's last weekend and it was fantastic.

Amazing Food All Around!. I went to Jak's for the first time this week and will definitely be back in the future. I tried the Prime Rib Dip sandwich, which has ground Prime Rib and NY Strip steak grilled to order. The onion rings were great as well. My boyfriend had a Bacon Burger and it was juicy, well seasoned, and delicious. The staff was courteous and I had a great experience. I plan on coming back for their dinner and brunch in the future.
The food and service was excellent. Expensive but well worth the price.
Great food, lousy staff. We've been to the jak's in the u district and in issaquah. both times the food was incredible. the prices are very reasonable for being a steak place. the staff and service are both very lacking. both restaurants are small and seating is limited so the wait time can be trying, but i would imagine once you get seated they would want to "promptly" serve beverages and take your order, especially after you've just waited an hour and 15 minutes - not so at both locations. it takes about 10 minutes to take your drink order and another 10 - 15 minutes to serve your drinks and take your food order. maybe this accounts for the long wait time... since the food is very tasty, maybe the location in west seattle will make up for the other 2.
Double cut pork chop is amazing. Meat dishes are simply but flawlessly prepared, with straightforward vegetable and potato sides. Attractive and competent waitstaff, well considered wine list, and classy but understated decor yield an excellent steak house experience without the pomp and circumstance of the big downtown houses.
Walked in on a rainy winter night at 5pm, and was seated quickly. Restaurant was fairly empty while Bar counter seemed almost full. Ordered bourbon glazed pork chop with onion rings and wedge salad along with lavender honey glazed roasted chicken with mushroom risotto and asparagus with Caesars salad. Pork chop was so juicy and glazed was yummy. Could have used more sauce, onion rings were thick and prefect. Chicken was juicy and glazed was amazingly tasty. Risotto was decent and large portion, Caesars salad was decent but over dressed and wedge could have used blue cheese crumble to add freshness Dinner proteins were large. Restaurant was nicely setup, but AC and fans made it chilly. Wait staff was friendly and attentive until we were finished and then we sat there an additional 10 min after last bite before check was offered. Restaurant was closer to half full when we left. Rear entrance was locked when we tried to ever .
We found this restaurant from the Google website. And we came all the way from Vancouver to the Seattle to have dinner in JaK’s Grill. I would like to say this is the awesome restaurant whatever for the food or services. The server is very friendly and patient to explain everything that we asked. And the food tasted very yummy!! Highly recommended this place for dating or having dinner! We will come back again for sure!
The food was great. We set out to eat half of a cow and this place delivered with a 32 oz porterhouse that came precut and cooked perfectly. Normally I wouldn’t want a precut steak but I am making an exception this time because cutting it would have been a pain especially with all the other food/plates on the table. Made sharing it a lot easier too.
There is an option for you food to come with “Oscar Prep” and the description for it sounds a lot better than what you actually get. I was expecting maybe some crab legs and asparagus on top of the giant steak. What actually came out was the tiniest portion of crab with a pile of asparagus on a side plate. Wouldn’t recommend it. Lasted me all of about 1.5 bites.
The Brussel sprouts were also hit and miss. The serving was big and the sprouts tasted great. But again the description on the menu was misleading. There was supposed to be anchovies and jalapeños and capers with them but we did not find any of those things on there. Maybe they were so small that they were buried under the mountain of Brussels, either way we did not find any of those things in the pile.
Our server Liz was amazing!! Went to dinner with my brother and his wife. She was outgoing and very attentive. She made our night! The service was wonderful! The food was incredible! This was an amazing experience! Thank you Liz!!
This is one of my favorite Seattle restaurants. The meat is the best. I usually order 'the skewers'. The spinach salad is wonderful. I never can complete the whole meal, so my take-home becomes another day's meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Went to Jak’s for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner yesterday, and we all had such a wonderful time! I made a reservation through OpenTable, and they easily accommodated our party of five. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service fantastic! And because I had mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday, he was given a free dessert. He chose the chocolate raspberry cake, which they brought out with a candle. Thank you Jak’s so much for making this night special for my guy ❤️
Great food, service, and experience! We all had different cuts of meat and was impressed with all of it. I personally had the cold smoke prime rib (I believe it was called) so tender and could be cut with butterknife! Very flavorful as well. My husband got the filet mignot - simply to die for! He was obsessed over it and I took a small bite to try and was a little jealous how good his was! Either way, very good experience and the waitress was very attentive and nice. I did try their onion rings and would pass on it in the future. They weren't super crunchy and seasoning wasn't consistent and tasted bland but was happy to try it out!
We ate here 2 times during our 5 day stay in Seattle. First time we (2) feared that 8 oz would be a lot of meat (Europeans bad at conversion) so we shared a wagyu spinalis steak. The waitress was very accommodating. The food was amazing!
A few days later we came here with 3 persons and we all ordered a wagyu spinalis with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes and it was amazing again!
I recommend this restaurant!
Nice meals all around for seven of us, from sirloin skewers to halibut to beef wellington to Ora King salmon. Everything done well except a portion of the beef Wellington, that wasn't trimmed well. But Jak's made it right.
Last night was my first time at JaK’s and it was fantastic. All of the dishes were above and beyond- our waitress Jackie was the sweetest. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience!
