I love Mexican food and really enjoy Rosita's. Reasonable prices, can usually get a parking place, be sure to visit the fresh corn tortilla bar. Happy hour margaritas are worth the effort, but didn't think their happy hour food choices were that great.
Having grown up in California, I won’t pretend that it’s super authentico, but it’s on par with Seattle’s best Mexi-merican...
Amazing Mexican food. Can't beat the fresh tortillas they make during dinner time for you to snack on!
Love the fish tacos. Every fish taco I have ordered in other restaurants have been compared to Rositas and none have lived up to what they prepare. I love Rosita's fish tacos so much, I've only ordered maybe two other dishes in ten years. I've only been dissappointed because other dishes are not The Fish Tacos. The rice on the side is to die for too. I've gotten the rice "to go" just for my kids. They would eat that and not an entree. Great service at this place. I would say nine times out of ten the same lady has waited on us. I've never had to wait more then 10 minutes for my food.
23 years and counting - LOVE the crab enchiladas! I have never found any that compare. The decor is also amazing, I am in design and really hate the overdone stereotype style usually seen in chain restaurants. Both food and style are wonderfully authentic at Rosita's.
I hail from west texas and this is by far the most authentic Mexican food I've seen in a year!
Margariiiiitas. Strong-ass, delicious margaritas. WATCH YOURSELF and your companions if you venture to order one! Bottomless chips, and their mole enchiladas were heaven :)
Been going here since I was a kid, LOVE this place. We always get the chicken enchiladas verdes (pequenas) and rarely do they disappoint! Occassionally, they've run out of their salad and the whole family is disappointed, it's so delicious, I wish I knew how to make my own! This is definitely a POPULAR locals place, as I'm constantly running into people I know there - from my eye doc and his family, to people I went to school with, one of the wautresses' daughters even was in the same class as my brother in elementary school, for several years. My family loves this place, and as I no longer live anywhere with decent Mexican, I try to go here EVERY time I visit home and I rarely get objections. Used to come here once a week with my dad wgen I was in college, sometimes twice a week, once or twice two nights in a row! This place is amazing if you know what to order, stay away from the red enchiladas sauce tho. The taco bar's salsa is the best and if you go late enough you can sometimes get it with your chips (just ask), and the green chip sauce is delish! The fajitas are good too, but I made the mistake of getting them to go. Trust me, eat at the restaurant! The drinks are good too, traditional heavy servers. My parents would get quite a buzz off half a drink, my bro and I take a bit more. Well priced too! My dad and I can get out of there for easily under $20 total, but we tip well cuz we live it so much. My dad also recommends the blck bean soup - quite tasty, I agree!
Fantastic Food Fanatic
+4.5
Ah Rosita.. much love. I had lunch there yesterday. Expresso Burrito is good times and as this venue always delivers consistent service, food value and flavor. I saw a new Jalepeno Margarita on the menu... interesting for those of us that like a bit more complex flavors beyond the sticky sweet normal rita...
Nicely done.. !
Loved it!. My family and I had moved into the area and were desperately searching for a good Mexican Restaurant. Coming from Texas we had extremely high standards. Rosita's definitely exceeded my expectations. Great for the family (I have 2 young kids), and perfect for date nights with my wife (be sure you ask to sit in the cantina). Staff is friendly and they have pretty good service overall.
Two thumbs up for the fresh handmade corn tortillas. The margaritas are STRONG and worth every penny. Be sure to order the Fresh Lime Margarita. My favorite dish is the Carne Asada. Best steak dish I have had anywhere. Their traditional red enchilada sauce is just OK. But everything else is great. I highly recommend it.
Two Words: TOMATILLO SALSA. Eat it. Go there and order the tub of it to go. Get some of the fresh corn tortillas to go with it, too. Be sure to head over to the grill area near the bar, bring a $1 (for tip, not cost) and get a hot, fresh tortilla, rubbed with butter and filled with salsa (or not, and then go dip in the tomatillo salsa!). Yum!
The mole is some of the best I've had - anywhere, including Mexico. Amazingly rich and sweet, yet savory all in the same bite.
Strong drinks, great dinners (always enough for lunch the next day), friendly, make-you-feel-like-family staff. And Andes Mints at the end! Yum!
Great for families, friends, couples, drinkers, diners. :-)
Decent food - tastes much fresher than Azteca style chain restaurant. Friendly staff too.
Great food when you know what to order. I'm in the bar at Happy Hour on Friday and there are 5 great looking single women hanging out.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in town
Fresh Tortilla Bar!. The entrees were forgettable, but I'll come back for the delicious fresh tortilla bar, that exists only off of tips. I'll order something very basic and cheap next time around if I have friends who want to go out to eat with their kids. There were a lot of kids (well.. it's the neighborhood) so don't go if you're looking for a relaxing night that doesn't involve a million kids surrounding you.
Best traditional mexican in the area. I'm very picky about Mexican food, coming from California, where there is an ample supply of great mexican food. Not being a fan of the taco trucks, I find rositas to be the best option around. Their salsa verde is, well, I always bring a jar home with me.
Don't miss the tortillas.... If you go here, don't miss the free fresh handmade tortillas. There's a station near the front of the restaurant where a person makes them for the taking (maybe only on weekends, not sure). Rosita's is also very family-friendly: the staff is welcoming and the overall noise level is such that nobody will hear your kids.
Not too bad. This place serves that same mediocre style of Mexican food that local chains like Azteca and Las Margaritas do, but Rosita's does it right. The preparation and quality just seem a lot higher.
Rosita's is one of the best Mexican options in Seattle. We love their salsas and other usual faire. This time around I was blown away by the Mole Enchiladas. The bartender even made me a margarita with mezcal instead of tequila which tasted really good.
man these were good. The sour cream draped all over both chimichangas was just perfect - I loved every bite that included it
the guacamole / salsa combination when it came time to get to that also hit the spot as well
the jack cheese was so soft and so well melted - it was some really fantastic cheese
normally - i’m not a huge fan of black beans - i prefer meat or pinto beans over it - but i did enjoy these.
The tortilla outside really tied all of this together. It was crispy - not like an enchilada - but slightly more like a tostada. Each bite of it had a slight crunchiness and an overall great texture to eat.
I do think there is a missed opportunity though - it could’ve been fried more - if you could generate a perfect golden brown texture this would’ve been amazing - the coloring here was similar to a normal tortilla - indicating some frying but not fully
i didn’t eat much of the mexican rice or refried beans since that wasn’t the focus of my meal - but i thought the refried beans were kinda meh from the little i had - they weren’t as good as some other places that i’ve had
finishing both chimichangas left me in the perfect place where i was incredibly satisfied but not excessively full - so that worked great
in total, i thought this was an excellent meal that didn’t quite fully live up to the hype but was absolute top tier mexican food
overall: 9/10
You’ll realize this is quite a huge place in Greenlake when you go inside. The staff were very helpful in giving us a larger table. We got tacos el pastor and chicken enchiladas with mole. They were really tasty. The best thing was the mango mint lemonade. It was so fresh and refreshing. Highly recommend.
This restaurant was one of my favourites in Seattle! The guava margarita was delicious- you can taste the guava and it wasn’t overly sweet. They brought fresh chips and salsa to the table. I ordered the cheese quesadilla which I really enjoyed. It was quite hearty so I only ended up eating half of it. The server was really nice and friendly. They also make fresh tortillas in house in the evening!
It is a very nice place, the food has a unique flavor, excellent customer service, trained staff.
A real treat eating at Rosita’s. The food was superb as well as the staff. They make and sell their own tortillas that are absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted. You can have as many as you like. Please tip generously.
Stopped in after reading other reviews. Complimentary order + 1 refill of house made chips. Salsas were tasty, a bit of heat but not too overwhelming. Margarita was delicious as others have commented. Ordered the chicken chimichanga plate as our main and split it (comes with 2 chimichangas). It was smothered in sour cream and guacamole and overall super tasty! It was a little dark in there but otherwise a great spot for excellent Mexican food!
Very good food, lots of quantity! The restaurant is located very conveniently close to Green Lake and has a good ambiance for dining in. The Covid-19 safety seems to be well maintained here. I tried their Vegetarian tortilla rolls and soup, both were great. Definitely recommend to try.
Rositas has been my go-to neighborhood Mexican restaurant for many years. It’s always a hit. The mole enchilada’s are my favorite. The staff is kind and the owner is in often always checking on his customers making sure they have everything they need. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this place to anyone I know. If you’re in the area and in the mood for some solid Mexican food. Stop by here. You won’t be disappointed.
Solid Mexican spot! Margaritas were good and well balanced. Fajitas were delicious and the refried beans were great (I'm pretty picky). Guacamole was under salted and I do wish the salsa had been a bit more flavorful. Overall a good experience - just a little on the pricier side and a little loud inside, so it was hard to hear my dinner mate. Will visit again, though!
Service was excellent. Food was just as excellent. They serve tortillas as they make them. Everything there is delicious. The service is awesome. It was a fun and beautiful experience. They over accommodate. This place is my top place and well worth traveling to greenlake
The Guava margarita was amazing. Perfect balance where you can taste the tequila.
Food was also great. Mole sauce had a wonderful bitter cocoa flavour.
Enchiladas were also great.
Loved it!
Love everything about Rosita's! Amazing homemade salsa (red and green), homemade corn tortillas made right in front of you, and many fantastic dishes that make it hard to decide which one to order. My favorite is the pork carnitas, but you really can't go wrong here. Also, try the guava margarita - you'll be gald you did!
This place is great! Food is delicious, plates are big, prices are reasonable, drinks are strong, and they even have free handmade corn tortillas on offer. Taco trucks are nice and all but this place has much better atmosphere.
We had a fabulous meal the other night at Rosita's. All the food was very fresh, the tortilla bar was fun for an appetizer. Sergio the owner was there, too, so we had a chance to say hi. Chips were crispy and warm, with nice salsa dips. My husband got the enchiladas de camaron. I got a Sergio special with a chile relleno and an empalmada. Great margaritas. Servings were very generous. We both got a box and a lunch for the next day.
Very hospitable staff! Food was amazing and portions large as well. I believe Elena was our server and she took very good care of us. Great place for a date!
I came in hungry but did not want a heavy, high calorie meal. I didn’t know what to order. Our waiter Jaimie suggested salad with avocados, mango & shrimp. It was simply perfect! My husband had delicious quesadilla. We will be back!
