This place is a gem, the owners and staff are friendly and truly love what they are doing. George is an amazing chef, this is the best Mediterranean place I've ever been to outside of Europe.

This is what Mediterranean food should be. From the stuffed grape leaves, falafel, and hummus appetizers to the kabobs, shawarma, and lamb chops, all perfectly seasoned for a fantastic taste experience!

What a great spot !

I had Gorgeous George's on my "to try" list and we were very close to it and in the neighborhood. We don't have Mediterranean nearly enough so it definitely sounded great.

I had the gyro plate here which is my favorite Greek dish. The meat was absolutely fantastic and the salad that came with my meal was extremely fresh and a real joy to eat.

Like many of our visits to Greek or Mediterranean restaurants it isn't unusual to have leftovers which was precisely the case here. We also got an order of baklava for later... which also proved to be wonderful.

The service here was very good... they checked in on us frequently and got our food to us in a very efficient manner.

Really a great place to dine at. Highly recommend!

The talent of this Chef is outstanding! Everything made from scratch fresh daily. The baba ganosh was the best I have ever had. The meats are tender, marinated in delicious secrets, the salads extraordinary.  The dressing alone makes you weak in the knees.  We sampled wines from the Middle East and local and they were delicious.  Best baklava ever!
George and his wife are so hospitable, so welcoming.  Great experience!

Amazing Middle Eastern food in generous portions. Decided to try this place based on other Urbanspoon reviews and boy I'm glad we did. I had the lamb shawarma, and my parents had the lamb kabob and shish kabob. The portions are enormous! The shish kabob is essentially 3 filet mignons with rice.

The shawarma was delicious! Tangy and hearty, the seasoning was flavorful without being overpowering. And the water they served with the meal was flavored with a variety of herbs & spices that made it delicious as well!

I'll definitely be back.

The BEST Baklava. George and his staff are warm, genial, and wonderful people, I look forward to seeing them each visit. The food is always fresh, prepared carefully, perfectly spiced & flavored, and served hot. The presentation is mouth-watering.

The lamb kabob is my favorite entree, always cooked to perfection the way I like. The minty salad dressing is perfect. The water has lemon and cucumber in it and refreshes the palate. Even something as mundane as the hummus and pita are outstanding.

Every dish my friends and I have eaten has been excellent.

George's baklava is the BEST I've ever had: light flakey pastry, perfect spices, good texture, none of that oily taste & feeling many others have.

Every visit I leave satiated, the flavors linger as fond memories. The next day I wake up craving more, especially the baklava! This is by far the best Mediterranean food I've had anywhere.

If I lived within walking distance, I'd eat there several times a week.

I highly encourage folks to dine here. If you can, go during the week. It's a small restaurant and can fill up on weekends.

Art in food form, friendly atmosphere, great service!. I learned about Gorgeous George's from this very review site, where it was at the top of the best-reviewed list for Mediterranean food in Seattle. Those reviews were VERY well deserved: everything from the delightfully refreshing water infused with cucumber, mint, basil and lemon juice, to dessert, was amazing. I had the lamb shawarma, which was perfectly spiced and perfectly cooked and came with a helping of beautifully seasoned and cooked rice and a little cup of tzatiki for dipping. My dining companion had the falafel platter, and I have never in my life experienced a more perfectly cooked and delicious falafel. I even got a birthday serenade from Gorgeous George himself, who came dancing over with a slice of Death by Chocolate torte and bottle of wine on his head (!) and poured me a glass.

George is an absolute artist when it comes to food, and the cuisine he shares provides an almost spiritual experience because it's prepared with such love and passion. Highly, HIGHLY recommended -- I'll definitely be back!

Great food, great service!. My family and I eat out a lot so we've developed a taste for great food. The more authentic, the better. Gorgeous George's had that--and not to discount the friendliest staff! Chef came to our table to make sure we were loving what we ordered. The Baklava is to die for.

Good (not great) Mediterranean fare served up with heart, flare, and passion. A fun place to introduce your non-foodie date to new flavors, since the food is approachable and, well, "tame" fir lack of a better term. Serious adventurers will find the mystery-meat burgers down the street at the Kort Haus of infinitely greater interest...

Food of the gods!. I've been a regular for the past couple of years. The quality, generous portions and magnificent flavors keep me coming back week after week. There are plenty of Greek and Mediterranean options in Seattle but none hold a candle to the outstanding flavors of George's kitchen. Every dish, sauce and dessert is packed with goodness. Be it lunch or dinner, Gorgeous George's is the place to be for those who love food packed with flavor and dare I say a dash of heaven.

Chef George catered my parent's 50th wedding anniversary party, and we could not have been more delighted! Gorgeous George's is my parents' favorite restaurant, so first, to be able to have Chef George prepare the food for their celebration was very special. Our experience was so easy and smooth, Chef George is warm and welcoming, and such a delightful man! When we met to discuss and decide on a menu, he made us coffee, and we had delightful conversation. The pick up of food was easy, a food warmer was included, so we could keep the warm things warm until it was time to set the food out. We just needed to be sure we had space enough in the car to fit it all, there was so much food! There were extra dishes, all of it delicious and delectable. Our guests commented many times on how beautiful and delicious the food was. (We dined on the yummy left-overs for a week.) :) Chef George, thank you, you made our party even more wonderful and special. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We had Gorgeous George’s cater for our holiday party this year, and everything was delicious! They go above and beyond in service, making sure you have everything you need. When people at the party heard the food was from George’s, they were so excited. This restaurant treats you like family, and genuinely wants to help you have an amazing time. The lamb skewers were incredible, but we also loved that the hummus, baba g, falafel, salad, etc is all dairy free and gluten free. Try them! You’ll love them.

I was here for an event, but they had hands-down the absolute best Mediterranean food, or some of the best food in general, that I have ever eaten. The event had out, about 20 different dishes, was done perfectly, and with great excellence. The interior has great ambiance, vibrant colors and art on the walls, and candles on the tables. It is family run by a couple, and the husband prepared all the food, while the wife was our server. Both were so kind and generous, and emphasized they wanted it to feel like we were welcomed into their home for a meal. As I understand it, they mostly do take-out normally, because they lost all their staff during the pandemic, and I don't know if they have plans to open up to normal dining or not in the future. But definitely one of the best dinners I've had.

We came here for an early dinner only to find out that they were doing take out only. After reading the reviews, we decided to just order a few dishes and bring it home. After we ordered our food, the owner/cook was nice enough to offer us some bottled waters while we waited. I was a little surprised at how heavy the take out bags were when we left. We god home and OH MY GOSH, the food here is so amazing! The portions were huge, everything is so fresh and tasty, and WHY OH WHY can't we have a gorgeous George in Hawaii haha. The mezza plate had tabouli, falafel, Salad, hummus, babaghanouje, and stuffed grape leaves. Everything was so delicious. We also had a steak plate of sorts, I forgot the name, but I remember the steak being so flavorful and tender. This place is definitely worth visiting, it's stellar.

I found Gorgeous George's from websites recommending it as a place to try while in Seattle. They were absolutely right! We came in close to closing time and ordered two George's combo entrees and one kafta kabob plate. The owner, George, mentioned he was running low on rice (since it was close to close), but offered to make us more which we took him up on. He truly loves his job and it shows in his cooking. The meat was seasoned to perfection and very tender. The garlic sauce in the plates complemented the meat well, but the yogurt sauce also went well with it. The dressing in the salads was slightly sweet and was a nice compliment to the somewhat bitter lettuce. Not to mention, he is very generous. The plates were filled to the top and we were able to eat this a second day. The prices are fantastic for the cuts of meat and the amount provided. We got a chance to talk with George while we were waiting for our food. He is such a kind man, with a very positive outlook, who really cares about people. We are only sad he does not have a restaurant in Texas. Of note, he did mention it has been hard getting staff since COVID so he does take out only on weekdays.

Amazing choice to have take-out from (no dine-ins as of now)! The food is really delicious. I've had the best dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) ever here! The grilled salmon and fried cauliflower are extremely good too! The portions are pretty big. On a nice day, go picnic with your take-out to nearby greenlake 😋🌳

I’ve lived in Seattle since 2018. I’ve tried many mediterranean restaurants since then but have yet to have anything comparable to the amazing, authentic quality of Gorgeous Georges. I want to start with my absolute FAVORITE, his dolmas. I’m usually disappointed at the quality from other places - they can be over priced, ice cold, too vinegary. George clearly knows what he’s doing. The dolmas are delicate, always warm, full of flavor. You can taste all the herbs he uses in them. They’re bursting at the seams. Above all, they’re tender and seasoned perfectly. His falafel is also out of this world - unbelievably moist. They never fall apart, they’re never dry, and have a beautiful green tinge from the fresh herbs. The babaghanouj is phenomenal. He charcoal grills his eggplant so they’re extra smokey and delicious. So smooth, so creamy, not bitter at all. You will be hard pressed to find a hummus smoother, richer, or creamier than Georges. So unbelievably delicious. The Mediterranean chicken I ordered was juicy, tender, perfectly cooked. The quality of produce he uses for the side of roast vegetables is AAA+ - broccolini, carrots, green beans, all perfectly cooked - not mushy. Paired with his homemade toum, its to die for. The quality of meat that he uses is also great- the lamb my friend ordered was unbelievably tender and flavorful, not gamey. If you’re a feta snob like me, you’ll appreciate that George uses fresh, brine-soaked feta instead of those dry crumbles you get everywhere else. So rich and creamy, perfect in his salads. I’m forgetting to mention the other mezze we had - baby cucumbers, pickled eggplant, and the richest kalamata olives you’ll ever taste. The tahini sauce is rich and creamy. You’ll taste his homemade salad dressing and wish you would have left with a bottle of it. We also had his lentil soup, not pictured below: herbaceous, lite, but very filling. I love the addition of radishes. On top of all this: perfectly seasoned rice pilaf, warm and chewy pita, and a side of the worlds best baklava. It’s clear that George has a wealth of culinary knowledge, and with it, a desire to share it with his community. It shows in the quality of the ingredients he choses. It shows in his meticulous food preparation (side note, the olive oil he uses to finish his dishes is so rich in flavor) And, It shows in his heart warming generosity. You feel like family here. All in all, George is my go-to when I’m craving Mediterranean flavors. You’ll eat his food and never want to eat anywhere else. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and order from here. You will not be disappointed. ♥️

A great option for Mediterranean food in Greenwood. The portion sizes are massive. The owners are very friendly! The chicken shawarma was very tasty. They switched to take out only during the pandemic. Overall a very nice place to dine in Seattle.

I had Gorgeous George's cater for my wife's Mama Mia themed birthday party. It was everything I had hoped for. Lots of delicious food that was presented beautifully. All the flavors and the colors, everyone was raving about it all night long. And George and his staff were very helpful and very thoughtful. They even labeled everything with the allergy precautions that some of us at the party had. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend them for catering great Greek food. Thank you, Chef George!

Truly a gem of Seattle. The food is high quality, healthy and delicious, and the owners are incredibly kind and passionate. You can tell how much care they put into their business. The ribs, grandma's chicken and the salmon are my favorite items. I've never had anything quite like them before. Also, the babaganoush is so smokey and creamy, I eat it by the spoonful. I normally don't love grape leaves, but I love the ones they make here. Really just a 10/10 place to go if you want to be happy and well fed.
