We had a great time. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very romantic. The food was very tasty. They don't make the Pasta in-house, except for the gnocchi, nevertheless, the pasta was great. We also ordered a filet-mignon that came with an extra dish according to your choice either vegetables (antipasto) or Pasta. The steak was very good, Medium rare as requested and the extra pasta that we chosen was delicious as well. The restaurant is no big so there might be an ecostic problem when there are more than a few taken tables. The staff was very helpful and interacting with them was a joy. The receipt is hand written like old times which isn't ideal for understanding the fees, but that is not a big deal

Overall average-good American style Italian food. The marinara sauce was excellent with a ton of garlic. The veal parm portion however was very small, and not worth the price tag. Caesar salad was good as well. Overall, order smart, enjoy the NYC-esque ambiance, and get something with red sauce.

Machiavelli was great, worth the wait time to get a spot. Our friends are regulars and love their carbonara, which was really heavy on the garlic this time... Their lasagne Bolognese was very saucy (kind of more of a liquid than solid food) which I didn't expect. Chicken parmigiana was 10/10 and I would definitely recommend it, probably would go back just for that. Try it out if you love authentic Italian cuisine.

Very cramped. I called and called to order a to go items. After the 5th time, someone picked up the phone and sat it down on counter. I road the scooter all the way there listening to the restaurant. I arrived still listening to the restaurant noise. They just ignored me.

My kids said this is the best pizza they’ve ever eaten. They also ended up eating their dads Carbonara and he had to switch dishes. My chicken piccata was one of the better ones I’ve had. 10/10 would recommend. Also loved the hostess and our server 🫶🏼

My fiancé and I relocated to Seattle more than a year ago, and this restaurant holds a special place in our hearts as it was the very first dining establishment we tried. It has since become our absolute favorite spot in the city! The staff, the cuisine, and the overall ambiance are truly exceptional. What we cherish most is the cozy, family-like atmosphere that greets you the moment you step inside. It's a place where you instantly feel welcomed and at home. In fact, we loved it so much that we chose this restaurant as the backdrop for our engagement photos!

Never leave Capitol Hill, always solid food. Admittedly I hadn't been back in a long while since I prefer to cook Italian at home. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were perfectly cooked and seasoned.. The pasta just right. Order a carafe of wine for an easy dinner date. You won't be disappointed. Also the staff are great to chat with.

We have been here so many times and I am surprise I have never reviewed the restaurant. The food is fantastic! I love that they have a rotating daily specials. This restaurant introduced me to fresh ground black pepper from a large wood grinder and I was so impressed with the scent and palette of their freshly ground pepper. The veal dishes are great, below is the hand made gnocchi, and eggplants parmesan. Not to over generalize, but all the foods are great and you really can't go wrong in selection.

I’d give a 4.5 star if I can! The food is okay, but the ambiance and service is amazing. The place is cozy and feels local, and the staff members are very friendly and chatty. The food feels homey but I don’t recommend the carbonara.

This is a Seattle staple. I always love going. I like the atmosphere, food and the service. I wish they would put in some sound damping in, as it can get really overwhelmingly loud when the place is full. The food is always just right. I like that they have smaller portions then most places. I still end up talking things home. My only complaint is that everything seemed to need a little salt. This was a general consensus with everyone at my table. I am hoping this was just a goofy thing today because, it has never been like that in the past.

Fantastic lasagna, and the best tortellini I've ever had. Fantastic service. Thank you. I shall return!

Great experience here! The fettuccine bolognese was pretty delicious even though it was a bit too garlicky. The pizza was New York style and to die for! I highly recommend the pizza! Drinks were reasonably priced and the service was excelente!!

Love Machiavelli! It hits a perfect middle ground between home-style Italian and a more upscale spot. It truly feels like you're walking into a little restaurant in Rome (down to the portion sizes :). The cocktails are refreshing and well mixed (strong!) My only wish is that their pasta was homemade, but on the other hand I'm not sure you could get the perfect al dente that they do if that was the case. By the way, make sure to get there early! We arrived 5 minutes after they opened and already there was a line, though we were sat quickly. While we were eating the restaurant went to full capacity quite quickly as well.

I'll start with the obvious, a landmark establishment from before Amazon (BA). They know how to keep a simple menu interesting and fresh without overwhelming the senses. About 20 tables, no reservations so best to expect a wait. But usually not too long. This is not a dine and linger establishment. They price based on turnover. So temper expectations in that regard. They won't rush but do expect you to order, eat and be gone. Small bar area serves food and drinks for dining room with a single bar tender so that can also backup. Still, with all that I gave an easy 5 stars for the honesty, and simplicity. But im guessing not so many locals anymore.

Food is awesome here, atmosphere is really nice here and the staff are super friendly and helpful when you can’t decide on what to order. The bar is a nice place to have a drink while you wait for a table. They have a really good mixologist always ready for what ever you want to order. The only complaint I have is that it’s on capital hill where the parking is always a challenge.

I absolutely love eating at this place and have been here countless times, but last Friday when my husband and I came for dinner the hostess was so off-putting. I know weekends can be busy, but not once did I see her smile, and she seemed super annoyed that both herself and customers were there. Have never had an issue with anyone else, but I was quite surprised by her attitude.
