This was our first time eating here, we just happened to be in town for some work. The food was so good! Large portions, for the money. The wait staff were all very friendly & fast. We ate our main course before I thought to take any pictures, but I took pictures of our desserts. Bread pudding & hot fudge brownie sundae.
Really good restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the inside of this place. Great selection of food options and sides. My prime rib looked overdone but was rare just like I ordered. It was very good. The onion rings were really good and hand breaded. My lobster stew was fantastic. The clam strips were delicious as well. My wife had the parmigiana haddock and said it was delicious.
Portion was huge and prices are really reasonable, great even. The service was fantastic as well when we came on a weekday and past lunch hours. Food is great and tasty. They have a lot of specials everyday so make sure you check those out
I was so impressed with everything about this restaurant. If you want the Maine lobster experience this is your place. We arrived as the place opened at 11:00 an adorable hostess came out with the biggest smile and welcomed the crowd waiting flipped over the open sign and began seating the guests. A friendly gentleman man was finding tables as the hostesses were seating everyone. We chose outdoor seating right by the water. The view was fantastic it looked like what I pictured Maine to look like. We ordered the down east lobster experience. It came with clam chowder, a whole lobster, corn potatoes and mussels. For dessert it came with a delicious slice of blueberry pie. As we ate we saw the lobster boats coming in and selling their catches. We couldn't have hoped for a better experience.
Great lunch. Wife had Haddock Chowder and I had the Haddock sandwich. They gave me mozzarella cheese sticks in place of fries and I threw the marinara sauce on the sandwich - boom. Lunch is served.
Great little stop and worth pulling over for a meal. Great staff, and can you believe Coke and Pepsi in the same room!
We arrived and were seated promptly.
We ordered fried clams with bellies, lobster stew, loaded, potato, skins, pickled beets, and butternut squash
The clams and potatoes and beets and squash were awesome! The lobster stew was good but a bit bland.
Our waitress was very nice.
Anglers is a terrific place where out-of-towners mingle with the local regulars. The food is ample and delicious, not just the seafood but meats too. I favor liver and onions with mashed potatoes (granted not everyone’s cup of tea) it came perfectly prepared. Service was pleasant and attentive. Additionally, I left my credit cards case (with cards) and when I desperately called the next day iI was able to retrieve it from the very nice manager. Do try Anglers, nice place to stop!
We frequently eat here and have always had a super-positive experience! A down-homey and unpretentious feel. One of the few places that offer fried oysters! Staff are delightful. Good portions. Our go-to seafood place. Just celebrated our 36th anniversary here.
A must-stop restaurant! My husband and I got the haddock sandwiches, pickle chips, and hand cut chips and everything was cooked to perfection. We also got the Angler shrimp Mary and crown peach tea, absolutely delicious as well. It's a real shame we don't live closer, I would visit at least once a week! Staff is also extremely friendly and the place makes you feel like your at a hometown favorite.
A family friendly restaurant on the way to points north (and south) for us. We return as often as we can. The welcome is genuine, the food is very good. The atmosphere is warm, honoring those who bring in the fish.
There is a particular respect for veterans and a table set in their honor, for those who served and cannot be there.
