We had lunch here - and it was excellent. The beet salad was nicely presented, great mushroom soup and a good chicken parm dish. Our wait service was excellent and his recommendations were spot-on for us. The restaurant is a nice upscale change from the sports-bar environment nearby, although they did have a bar with screen if that's what you want.

I came here for my birthday dinner because I was craving chicken piccata and this place did not disappoint. I also had a caesar salad and some of the lobster ravioli, both of which were excellent. Our waiter, Ian, was attentive, funny, and very helpful. I highly recommend this place.

We have been to Italy many times and the authentic dishes were spot on as well as some fun new twists to some of the traditional dishes. The service was unbelievable even mid week near closing. They took the time to really ensure our dinner was perfect! We will be back very soon. (Side note: my uncle lived in Italy for 2 years and this is his favorite spot in the entire valley for authentic Italian! His recommendation!)

Great atmosphere. Not super busy. Creative dishes. The beet salad and calamari was good too. Insta @amyad98

Casual Italian restaurant tucked away against the canal. Is social distancing (3/21). We had a very nice server and the staff was very friendly all around. Food wise, the menu is a bit limited though hard to tell if that’s covid related like others. It was shown as Italian seafood cuisine though it had more turf than surf. We had the calamari, which was unbreaded and perfectly cooked though a somewhat sweet lemon sauce was with it that we weren’t thrilled with. I ordered an arugula strawberry almond salad with a very tasty vinaigrette; it’s huge and we shared it. I also ordered the linguini arrabbiata (linguini and shrimp in spicy tomato sauce). It was definitely spicy Calabrian Chile sauce. The shrimp were large and well cooked but had that odd tinge of flavor some frozen shrimp has. I ate it anyway. My companion had the veal Gorgonzola special with red sauce. He said it was good. There was some spinach sauté on the side. The dessert options were standard with one “impossible cake”. It was a chocolate cake on the bottom and cheesecake on top, cooked together. Also surprisingly bland on the bottom and the baked cheesecake was okay.

An AMAZING experience! Started with the muscles, had the gnocchi for my main, and the chocolate mouse cake for dessert. I was unbelievably full at the end, but I wouldn’t have changed a thing! The staff was amazing and knowledgeable!

We wanted to try a local neighborhood Italian spot and we heard about La Locanda. Right away, you are greeted by friendly staff and the ambience is intimate. Our server gave us great wine recommendations too. We ordered the garlic bread, Caprese salad, and I ordered the gnocchi. I highly recommend ordering the gnocci as the main entree since this is homemade and I had a chicken in addition to it which was fantastic. Overall, this is a great place to come if you want affordable Italian food with a nice atmosphere!

The food is fabulous. The garlic bread missed this time, but everything else was spot on. The waiter was apparently new to the job, and not super experienced. Limited wine list. The restaurant is in an uninhabited block of Scottsdale that's being redeveloped, so it's not very attractive. Fabulous food, however...

Came in 25 mins before closing on a Monday and staff was very friendly enough to still serve me. Great impression considering I just moved in near by… Chicken Marsala is phenomenal!!
