It's almost always empty, which is most likely due to the fact that it's on the older side of things, but let that deter you.
The best risotto I've had anywhere yet, great steak, the bartender always remembers your name, and it feels like home!
If you want somewhere that tastes great, while being able to relax and enjoy your meal, this is definitely the place to go.

Living in McCormick Ranch has allowed us to find some hidden treasures. The Pinion Grill in the McCormick is a nice place to enjoy some of Scottsdale scenery. The patio has done of the must beautiful vistas overlooking the lake at McCormick Golf Club. The only negative is the lack of a happy hour. Homero event manager and Antonio the bartender filled us in on the event scene at the hotel and in the neighborhood. Come at sunset.
After my review Homero brought out a sample of the lettuce wraps. Awesome! Thanks!

Lovely outdoor seating area with stunning views. We realized quickly into our visit that there was really only one server who was running around trying to take care of tables both inside and outside. She was very professional and kind and was clearly doing her best to appease everyone. We are sympathetic to staffing issues and weren't in a rush so we didn't say anything when it took a while to receive our food and the check. However, if you're in a rush or have limited time, you may need to consider other options.

Very nice place. The service was slow, but just not enough staff probably. They also closed at 10pm on a Saturday which was probably posted, but was surprising for a Saturday night. We met some friends to hang out and catch up, that were staying there, not realizing the hours. Still a very nice place, just plan accordingly and don't be in a rush.

For a Hotel restaurant I was amazed with the place, the elegant seating, outdoor area and the Lake views. Nightly they lit up some fire to add something special to the evening outside seating area. I didn't eat dinner here but tried the delicious Crispy Thai Shrimp with a tangy spice sauce. Goes well with the Californian Pinot Noir. My work colleagues came back to me with the most amazing feedback in the taste, presentation and value for money

We stay at resorts once a month, and this was not our first pick but We were so impressed by the service. Our server was single handedly taking care of the entire resturant. Damon was knowledgable about wine, parings and gave us a complimentary Strawberry Cheesecake, that was amazing. The Salmon and Halibut were cooked to perfection with accompanying sauces that superbly accented the flavors. Lovely views and ambiance. Overall amazing experience.

Went here about 4 months ago, the food was excellent quality, I had ordered the chicken sandwich, was very good. It got 4 stars as the service was horrible, and for that reason I have never been back. Couldve just been an off day, id still recommend trying the place out as the food was great.

I have gone to MANY restaurants where I really enjoyed the food. However, I have never taken my time to leave a review on any of them. BUT, this place totally deserves the time for me to write about!
A week after I purchased the GROUPON, I went on Yelp to check the reviews of this place and I almost cried! jaja. All of the reviews were horrible!! So, as I drive to the place I was very skeptical about it and scared because I went on an anniversary date.
BUT, as soon as you walk in, you enter the hotel lobby (Which has a very nice appearance!) then you walk into the Pinon Grill.
The hostess Alex was very polite. The view was AWSEOME!, Very chill, relaxing. Through out the night I had about 4 different people who checked on me to see how everything was going. I haven't even talked about the food OMG!!
I ordered the "Chicken Nachos" (I forgot what the actual name was, but HOLLY C@%! they were SOOOO good and it was a BIG serving! I almost got full just from that but it was totally worth it!
All the plates are Ala Carte (or how ever you spell it) thus, the rations might seem small, but I ordered the Whiskey BBQ Salmon but added an order of asparagus and mashed potatoes (28 bucks total. Not bad!)
My lady got the Red chilly Chicken. omg so good too!
And we got an order fo fried rice. THE BEST FRIED RICE ive ever had! and a glass of wine. total bill was about 74 dollars. TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!
Then you can walk around the pond! very beautiful and relaxing, romantic etc.

Beautiful patio. Forgettable food.. I wanted to like this place. The service was great. Dining on the patio is gorgeous. There was barely anyone dining on that Saturday night, so it was very intimate. However,while I recognize it was a hotel, the food was incredibly average and overpriced for the caliber of taste I expected. The prices are cheap for Scottsdale however. I ordered the BBQ pork tenderloin and lobster chowder. My wife had the salmon. The lobster chowder had little taste. The tenderloin was no better than tenderloin I had prepared after a visit to Fry's Marketplace. There was some KC Masterpiece portioned over it. The salmon was average. I finished with some dry chocolate cake. I heard good things about the salad as others in our party enjoyed it. I would go back on a quiet weeknight to enjoy some wine on the patio. I wouldn't eat there again.

A nice place in the heart of Scottsdale. My wife and I have been here 3 or 4 different times. We always take an Entertainment or Restaurant.com gift certificate for a buy one get one free or $25 off deal. Last night was our best experience yet there. We ordered a caesar salad to share and when it was delivered the kitchen had already split the plate. I was surprised how much there was after it was split, it was plenty. I must almost mention the rolls and butter. I usually don't, it's like commenting on a mexican restaurant's chips, but these were great, crusty but still chewey. But it was the honey butter that really made it great. After salads, the entrees came. I had salmon and my wife had the sirloin (it was her concession since I would take her to Flemings because we already went to Temple and a reception before dinner). Both were amazing. the salmon was the best I'd ever had and I boarded with a family who fished for salmon in the north pacific off Alaska every year and they knew how to cook salmon. It had a great slightly spicy glaze with this amazing lemony sauce on a bed of greens. My wife's sirloin was melt in your mouth tender with a spicy, smokey barbeque sauce served with garlic and buttered spinach and roasted baby potatoes. This was a meal fit for a king, yet we left without leaving more than $40! 5 stars to Pinon Grill.
