Combo's Fish Fry

Best Fish Fry in the 518 & many ppl don’t know about it! The owners & the staff are always friendly & welcoming. The place is always clean & even when busy they never make you feel RUSHED or HURRIED to order! They have literally been the most CONSISTENT of all the Fish Fry’s in Schenectady as long as I’ve been around (about 2decades), staff, food & environment wise!

Dec. 2021 - Delicious fried egg plant for our appetizer, followed by blue fish . FEB. 2022- Another great blue fish and fried egg plant lunch! Combos is a quaint small neighborhood fish take out place. take out only. I suggest to call ahead too, as Phil gets very busy once they open + Always quick service , very clean and friendly employees. Also, reasonable prices too. At combo fish fry I always like to indulge myself so I tend to go when my appetite has hit a peak. I got 3 orders of haddock which are always great prices for the size. They come with the delicious homemade tarter sauce which I really enjoy. I also got 2 orders of fried eggplant and was allowed to eat a few pieces while I waited for the rest of my order with my mother and we chatted away about the amazing looking cheesecake and looked over the menu items. I noticed the coconut shrimp and decided to order some and I have to admit I am glad I did. They were amazing. The pineapple dipping sauce paired perfectly with the coconut shrimp. I am a lover of sweet and savory so if that is your thing I would give this item a try. Plus you get to feel like you're in the tropics for a little bit. Next we ordered 3 orders of scallops, chicken tenders for my nephew and large fries. The order took awhile to make as I'm sure you could tell. The staff there is always really friendly and chats with my mother and I everything we go there. The neighborhood isn't the best but once you get inside you completely forget about all of that.They make great food and have always been a staple of the Mont Plesant, Schenectady community.

Combos is the best fish fry around. We come all the way from Rhode Island for their fresh and great tasting food. I love everything there. Best service around. I always feel at home by staff and owners. They are very friendly and everytime we come back they remember me by name. A must when visiting Schenectady, NY.
