It’s a small family own business but they have an excellent food . They accommodated the best as they could even though we arrived at 9:30 night
Definitely recommended 😋
Okay....so this is a 5 star hidden amongst the downtown tourist restaurants! Ali, the owner, believes in a dining experience, so don't go here if you want fast food. Go here if you want great food! A small, cozy, and unassuming restaurant, you've likely walked by in one of the busiest spots on Whitaker Street.
We started with a four plate sampler of dolmeh, hummus, babaganesh, spanakopitakia, served with pita bread, freaking amazing! Our friend who had never had most of these dishes loved them. Spiced just right with savory favors but made fresh with a hint of lemon.
I had the amazing chicken kabob. Ali told me he marinated the chicken in milk and spices. It melted in my mouth. The rice is its own special treat, made with honey, almonds, and saffron. It was a second star of my dish. We also loved the Moussaka, Pastitsio, and the Chiken Koobideh kabob. I tried my friends order of the chicken Koobideh kabobs and liked my chicken kabobs better. Marinated as opposed to ground, but just my preference.
We paired it all with a Greek white wine and finished with a Turkish coffee.
It was a great dining experience I would put against the much higher priced, high-end hotel restaurants of Savannah. Would I go back?!? See you next week, Ali!!
Food was delicious, the portions were very generous. The atmosphere was cozy and the owner was kind and attentive. The service was a bit slow because the owner was running the entire Front of House by himself, but he was working incredibly hard to do so. Kudos to him for his hard work and dedication, it is impressive how well things were running being short of staff. We didn't mind waiting a bit longer than usual because the food was great and the owner was a wonderful host.
No the best pic for sure but it was extremely delicious. 10/10. A lot of flavor in the food and the owner was really serviceable.
Unbelievable! Everything everything is a total10! If you want authentic middle eastern food from a husband and wife team then you absolutely must go to this restaurant! Great atmosphere! Best ever! Cant say enough good things... just go! You'll love it! Thank you Ali and Patty!
Our party of 4 had a fabulous time at Persepolis! Ali, the owner, took the time to pay quality attention to our party, and the food was some of the best Persian food I’ve ever had. The lamb koobideh was fantastic and everything else was excellent.
Had a great dinner here with some colleagues. Owner came across as a bit pushy but he soon mellowed, and was very friendly from then on.
Food was excellent!
Leaving this review because the place was next to deserted, and it really doesn't deserve it.
Absolutely delicious dinner and wonderful service. Highly recommend the yogurt trio as a starter. Mast-o khiar, mast-o musir, and a yogurt with honey and walnuts. 😀 order up and get the zereshk with your rice. You won’t regret it.
Phenomenal mediterranean food! The hummus was especially delicious (not pictured but others in the review comments have photos). Owner was kind and entertaining despite being busy and serving large parties. I suggest reserving a table or arriving after the peak dinner time for the best dinner experience.
My husband and I absolutely loved this place. The owner is the sweetest man & despite being busy and understaffed he handled everything wonderfully and with such patience & care. The food was amazing! I highly recommend the hummus & pita - so delicious! We finished our dinner with dessert & a hookah! We will definitely be back! If you’re looking for a place to work in downtown Savannah he is hiring!!
