Denny's

Solid 4 Star experience. Had the Salmon, vegetable medley and red skinned potatoes. Arrived approximately 3:30pm. Restaurant was cold. Even the servers had jackets on. Food tasted good. Salmon had a butter-garlic sauce in just the right amount. Pretty good service, then it got busy and she was a bit over-whelmed but kept her smile. Would consider returning.

I wanted to try dennys because the commercials made it look great. My dad said it was going to be nothing like the commercial. He was mostly right. I made him take me anyway, for dinner. Breakfast for dinner. As soon as we walked in the entrance my dad almost made us leave. There was a constant loud beeping noise by the front door but the restaurant was big so he thought if we sat near the back we might not hear it. So we sat near the back at a pretty cool rounded booth. The menu makes the food look awesome especially the nachos. But we wanted breakfast for dinner. Long story short, I ordered the French toast slam and crushed it. Clean plates club. Over medium eggs were perfect, good sausage, really good crispy bacon and the I loved the French toast. I also drank an entire strawberry smoothie since they were out of bananas and I loved it too. The food was a 5 for me. My dad was happy I liked it, he said the eggs were good but had no comment on the rest of his slam….my dad was happy the aroma of the syrup was strong enough to cover up any odors the tile floor and the dark walls and ceilings might give way to. After tip our bill was $46 which my dad thought was insanely expensive for Dennys. “$17 for a dennys slam? Really? There’s no way they survive this pricing especially before midnight. No way!” I don’t know what that means but he ate all of his food.

Food was okay, but not like it used to be. $40 for 2 breakfast orders that were only 2 eggs and toast and 2 eggs, 2 small sausage links and toast and 1 soda. All to-go. Waited sort of a long time at the entrance before I saw anyone at all. Server was nice, but could tell she didn't want to be there and was not impressed with my tip. ($5 for a take out order). However my boyfriend was in the car sick and couldn't keep much food down, and we were on our way to the ER and it was the only place open to get hot food that wasn't fast food. Had to order at the restaurant because despite letting it ring several times, no one would answer the phone.
