The best hidden gem in Sarasota! Bob is so full of great stories and fun knowledge. Food is priced great and comes out fast. After your meal go walk it off through the museum of rail cars!

Wonderful experience and great food. It is worth the trip to plan a meal here. Lots of photos to view, mostly of Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey circus history, but also some military and celebrity photos. Bob is a wealth of information on many topics. The train is authentic and adds to the experience. Don't go if you are in a hurry. There is too much to see.

So, the dining car was quite cold, but the other cars were quite warm. A sweater made me comfortable. Bob is the chef. Our very kind and likeable waitress has been there for seven years! The food was great. Our grandchildren had a great time, as did we. The museum component with hundreds of pictures from the glory days of the Ringling Brothers Circus was far more engaging than I expected. Bob is a great story teller too, so if it's slow he may come to the dining car and regale you wonderfully. My advice? Get thee hence!

This place is wild. It is very cool that you're eating on a train. Bob is the only guy cooking all the food and for 80 years old he can crank it out pretty fast. I got a burger and fries with grilled onions. Well it was nothing super special it was still very fresh and hot and good. Everyone else that was with us seem to like what they got there is a fish sandwich and some salads as well. Bob came out from the kitchen since the place was closing up soon and he gave a very cool history lesson to us all and then we walked all the train cars to see the memorabilia. This place is an absolute treasure trove of pop culture. I definitely recommend coming here. It's kind of off the beaten path so maybe take a look at your GPS since you're driving through some parking lots It sort of seems sketchy but I assure you everything is fine. Looking forward to coming back and talking to Bob again.

I must say I was a bit iffy about this place when I pulled up, however, when you go inside, it’s very nicely decorated very friendly people and great food, if you get a chance, try the brie and berry, compote, grilled cheese, or the ham Reuben!! Bob the owner who is also a World War II vet, was very friendly and showed us around all the parts of a train, it’s like a little museum in there and then he also has 100 your old piano that he fixed up and anybody can play, the back train car is being remodeled due to somebody, breaking in and vandalizing and robbing them, but the front still looks very nice, if you get a all the time and chance it’s a must to stop and eat there and look around, my daughter loved it and she is nine!

I like the fact that the restaurant is so unique and give different vibes and experience. The restaurant inside trains and there are some galleries at the back where there are lot of pictures of circus etc. We went there for Sunday brunch and the restaurant was packed. We got omelette. When it’s almost ready, Bob will call you to choose what kind of toppings you want for your omelette. And he likes to engage with the customers, which is nice. I’d definitely bring friends and family when they are coming for visit to this place! Make sure to check on their opening hours as they are open every day.

Very cool decommisioned train turned brunch spot. I love it! It reminds me of the small mom and pop bars and restaurants in alphabet city in NYC with its own unique charm. It had real table clothes. It was very busy. In the back are Ringling circus memorabilia. I love the whole concept. Eggs, fruit, toast only $6.50! Even with that someone was complaining. Whoa, just chill and enjoy the surroundings, the nostalgia, the great prices. I love it. I love the charm and appreciate the history.

This place is soooo cute! Great sandwiches too. If you're looking for something unique and different for lunch then this place is a must. It's circus themed and very cleverly done. We truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great too.

"Hidden gem," is often overused, but Bob's Train truly is one. You eat in a railway dining car with circus memorabilia aplenty. I had the grilled brie with jam sandwich and homemade chips and it was great. There is also a good chance that Bob, who does the cooking, will come out and say "hi." The man is a walking encyclopedia of circus history, and also shares stories of his time in the U.S. Navy if you ask, such as being on a ship only a couple of miles from a nuclear bomb being detonated underwater when such tests were still allowed. Bob's Train is a great atmosphere with great food!

This place is super cool! Doesn't look like much on the outside but SO AWESOME on the inside. It's a magical museum of circus history combined with a really unique, fun and delicious dining experience. I wish those who brought their toddlers along would show respect for other diners. Having them crawling on the floor, pawing at me and attempting to eat my food was NOT appreciated. People can be so rude and inconsiderate. Bob came out and talked with us then showed us the other train car (an engine I believe) he's working to restore. Bob is a really neat guy, full of spunk and imagination. He's not getting any younger though, I truly hope this slice of history continues long after he's gone.
