Chef Wes never fails to present the freshest and most flavor packed seafood. We were so happy to find his new location. We had a fabulous meal. Can't wait to go back with friends. See you soon!

We were vacationing for our 25th anniversary in Siesta Key and gave this lovely little place a try. The restaurant was a little hard to find but we are so glad we found it because it was the best meal we’ve had in quite some time. We both had the halibut (different preparations) and it was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked and melted in our mouths. The risotto and asparagus that accompanied it were also perfectly done and delicious. Everything from the calamari app, the bread with a fabulous tomato basil butter concoction and olive oil sides was amazing, and the key lime pie was the perfect level of tartness and creaminess. Lastly, Tom, our server was kind, professional and attentive, and had great recommendations. Do not miss out on this gem of a restaurant! We will be back!

Wes Duvall, this Gulf Gate fishmonger has a history of working in, owning and operating restaurants in the Sarasota area. Wes is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, but his food skills are beyond going to school, as Wes truly understands food and seafood is lifted to another notch once Wes brings it into this expanded Off the Hook Restaurant and now fish market. Some restaurants just can't do fish and bring out the delicate and special flavors that Wes consistently delivers. With their expanded operation of adding fresh fish, Sarasotans have another location to purchase their fresh local and sometimes not so local fresh seafood. These are not just fish, but rather special and uncommon species that are interesting and sometimes species I've never heard of before. A recent example is "barrel fish" which are large and from the deep Atlantic and usually brought up after spearing. After enjoying a seafood Po Boy fresh oyster sandwich and noticing barrel fish on sign above the cooler, we decided to bring a nice piece home to roast in our green egg for dinner. It was incredible with a brown crust on the outside, moist and flavorful on the inside after spending about eight minutes at 500 degrees. Treat yourselves by going hear for lunch, dinner, take out or better yet a nice piece of fresh fish to prepare in your own kitchen or grill. Off the Hook is not like other fish markets. See and taste for yourselves.

The food was absolutely delicious. Four of us enjoyed our meals. My husband and I had blackened swordfish with an orange butter sauce, mouthwatering. Our friends had pecan crusted fluke in a curry sauce. The service was great.

Stopped here on a whim. Pleasant service, almost all the seafood is fried. Not to my desire so I had the Tomato soup and Cashew salad. Wife had same soup and Spring rolls. Everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared and presented. Had couple craft beers, the bill was very reasonable. Overall a very pleasant lunch experience

We had a great time with friends here. The food was spectacular. Fresh and literally off the hook. The menu is today's catch with your choice of preparation. If you want a truly fun and unique experience this is your place. I look forward to returning and trying the rest of the catch.

Call ahead, make a reservation. Or not, there were some empty tables when my friends and I got there at 8 pm on a Tuesday night. Excellent service, delicious warm bread with super good sun-dried tomato butter and a vampire killer garlic olive oil dip. I got the sea bass, Mediterranean style. Another got the sea bass with another style but the winner was the suggested Amber jack, cashew crusted and soba noodles. Drool! I should have taken photos of my friend's dish! Best part about this place, there's parking!!!

Great fresh fish selections with an almost overwhelming amount of options that the fish can be prepared! The appetizers were delicious as well. The desert portions were great, but on the small side.
