Fresh Start Cafe

I was looking for an easy place to bring six people and a baby. The menu online had a good variety and I figured this place would be acceptable. It turned out, as we all agreed, to be exceptional! Everything was fresh and homemade. We had three of the six soups of the day and they were each phenomenal, and served with a piece of baguette that reminded me of a cafe in Paris. I had the apricot glazed salmon salad and it was generously portioned and perfectly cooked. The desserts looked fantastic and I would try them next time for sure.

Had a super delicious lunch and would happily revisit over and over again. Even the side salads included with sandwiches were inspired, with pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries. I can't wait to try more next time! We brought some pastries home, and while delicious, the cooking here is definitely better than the baking.

The food is exquisite. Over the years, we've never had a bad experience. Updated Review 05/27/23 I enjoyed this place. My family enjoyed the place. We have eaten inside and outside and it is wonderful. Full warning. You are in Florida and there is a possibility for bugs if you eat outside. Pros: Great food, excellent server (Andre) when he was at the table. Just overall joyful place to eat with your family. They allows dogs outside so that was cool that the different dogs were there as well. Andre no longer works here but the other servers are wonderful as well. Recommended: Most definitely. Whether you are visiting or live here, stop into the Fresh Start Café and try their food. Cons: Food may take an extremely long time to get to the table. Don't expect quick delivery. It is well worth the wait. If you have a severe dog allergy, this may not be the place for you or eat inside. My family and I will be back here. Edit: We have been back several times and the food never ceases to amaze. It is always fresh and always good.

Fresh Start is our happy place. The lovely Hanna (the owner & chef) took our order. We shared with her how much my grandmother, who recently passed, loved this place and their incredibly delicious cheese blintzes. I got them in her honor and loved them soooo much. Perfection. And the patio is our favorite outdoor seating in Sarasota!!! We will be back again and again.

This restaurant gets a solid 10! On a Sunday afternoon at 1 pm, we had a short wait. The staff was brilliant, very informative, patient, friendly. And The Food- It was incredible! I had the Reuben salmon sandwich. It was THE BEST reuben I have ever had! Not sure how I didn't know about this place, but I will be back! And soon!!
