Great Frog Legs appetizer... The fish was so delicious. This place is a gem. What a total surprise to get off the highway and have broiled flounder and tilapia cooked to perfection. The fried flounder was lightly friend perfect.... Great service fresh food and from the outside you would never expect it!!@!

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Atmosphere is nicer than expected for a place just off the interstate. Our server, Nancy, was so friendly and professional and checked on us repeatedly to make sure we wanted for nothing. We can recommend the crab bisque, prime rib & shrimp with baked sweet potato, and mandarin orange-pineapple-triple layer cake. The shrimp and grits comes with bacon-wrapped shrimp and sausage in the grits, which I didn't want, so I got blackened jumbo shrimp with a side of cheesy grits, and I loved it. We will definitely stop here again when we are driving to and from Florida.

Based on all of the previous glowing reviews, we simply had to try this place, which is conveniently located next door to the Best Western Deluxe - needless to say, don’t let the decor which seems frozen in time give you any pause; every single item we ordered was absolutely delicious! Perfect temperatures and seasonings down to the sides + complimentary bread! We opted for the specials (NY Strip and Pork Chops…as well as the Double Chocolate Almond Cake made by the owner) and ultimately ate ourselves to blissful ruin. Top it all off with wonderful service and the fact it’s right off of the highway - and you’ve got a little gem in Santee for those who frequent the area or are simply passing through!

We picked up a take-out order last night. The reviews here were so good that we went with the prime rib dinner. Food was being brought to the front just as we walked in the door, so prompt service. However, as I signed the check, I joked about how I almost stole the woman's pen. She said, I would have been very angry that you didn't tip and stole my pen. You wanted to demand a tip for carrying the food 10 feet from the kitchen to the door? You didn't serve it or deliver it, for which I would have tipped generously But you didn't. The food was packaged nicely, salads separate from the hot entrees. However, my husband's salad tasted moldy. Mine was okay. The prime rib was tough and sinewy. Grits were good, but it's South Carolina. That's to be expected. I know we had plastic utensils, but you would have had trouble cutting that meat with a chainsaw. It was cooked as ordered, though. Overall, between attitude and poor quality of meat, a very disappointing experience for $67

My husband and i were on our way back home from vacationing in Florida. We had been driving all day and decided to stop in this town for the night. We were wanting seafood for dinner , so the hotel clerk recommended the captains quarters......I loved everything about this place. The waitress was great. The food was delicious. I got the popcorn shrimp, and it was delicious.....they were actually pretty big for popcorn shrimp....And the prices were not bad either. I would definitely recommend eating at the captain's quarters.

We had an extremely friendly waitress. The lasagna we ordered was delicious. My husband and I took half of our lasagna meals home to enjoy the following day. We have eaten there twice and found the restaurant very clean. We are looking forward to eating at Captains Quarters in the future. We wished the menu had more items such as baked haddock or a chicken dish.
