If only my friends back in Melbourne could try this diner style restaurant in a strip mall (which is VERY Californian) at these prices. My rib-eye (scotch filet) and eggs with hash browns and English muffin was $15.95. The portions are big is classic Americana fashion and I love it. This place rocks. Norm no longer owns it but the current is awesome and knows everyone's name. Customers are super friendly with each other and the wait staff make everyone feel like they are being treated to a home cooked meal. Which they are!!!
Love, love, love this place for breakfast. I love their banana pancakes or waffles - order it even if it's not on the menu. Best biscuits and gravy in Sonoma County - better than Hank's and Jeffrey's. Friendly service, usually no wait, and they always have the game on. And they're always decorated for the season.
Norm is a local legend. Owned Norm's Country Kitchen in the 1970s. Sold it to Azar in the 1980s, who in turn sold it to Carlos, the current owner. Then, he opened Norm's Copper Kettle down the street. Sold it to Ronnie and Vic in the 90s, who later sold it to Paige. Mid 2000s, Norm comes out of retirement to open Norm's Kitchen in Lakefield. For his daughter, I think. Same legendary chicken-fries steak recipe. Same down-home cooking.
My family and i have been going here for years, always great food and service. but the last 2 times we have gone in the past month the cook forgot full meals off our order. So we have had people sitting and waiting 15min or longer for food when everyone else is eating. The last time they forgot my sons order and half my order and we went there for my sons birthday and he had nothing in front of him until everyone was almsot done with their food. Not sure whats going on but we will probably be looking for a new breakfast place. They werent even busy last time so it seems like the cook just doesn't care. If your missing half the order plus a side your not even trying to read the ticket..... there was only 4things total....
Great place. Love the atmosphere! My favorite breakfasts are the waffles or pancakes combos. I eat my way into a food coma for the rest of the day.

My boyfriend and I just went here today for breakfast. The food was amazing. I had the combo meal which included biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon and sausage. He had the chicken fried steak which is always delicious. The biscuits and gravy was so good. I loved the gravy it wasn’t too filling. I put some salsa on my eggs and it made it even more enjoyable. The orange juice was really good. Couldn’t help but finish it. I am so coming back again.
A great little local diner, food is tasty and consistent. Good portions and good value. Have been several times and will return many more in the future.
