I had a fun night at Bricks + Mortar! It was WAYY TOO LOUD inside, however. Very small space, and the bar wasn’t separate from the dining area at all and people were treating the place as if it were a bar.
The food was pretty good overall, but needed a bit more salt. I loved the Mac n cheese! We also ordered the chicken and waffles, and the bbq chicken pizza. I thought both of them were delicious, although my partner felt that the dishes both could’ve used some more salt and seasoning to them. I liked the bbq chicken pizza here much better than dedicated pizza places, like CPK, though!
The service was a bit slow, but that’s understandable with how crowded it was, and waitress was super sweet and friendly!
Also, there were only single bathrooms for men and women, and huge lines for each. Definitely feel like they could do with larger bathroom facilities, considering how many people appear to come here to drink on the weekends. There were also way too many TV’s throughout the whole dining area, each seeming to be on a different channel. Was a bit too much for my taste and distracted from the dim, gastropub-like ambiance the place had.
Had a good time and a yummy meal, but it was too loud and the food could have used some improvement. Solid meal overall though!
We had a great time here... Popped in for a couple of drinks and a snack... We decided on the chicken and waffles and we were NOT disappointed. I would absolutely recommend! (Photos are Google with night view and iPhone... Either way WORTH IT)
Frankie the manager took amazing care of us and Haley (tall brunette) our server was extremely kind, attentive, timely, and knowledgeable about the menu. I would come back just because of Haley and Frankie!
We didn't have the "perfect" experience but the problems we had were handled right away!

Went during happy hour (12-16). Fantastic food. Good drink selection. Quick and friendly service.
⁶Nice little place tucked back away from the street. Outdoor patio made for nice sunny morning breakfast.
Lots of options for the bloody mary bar, only $10. Bottomless mimosas for $20.
my mouth is still watering, this is the best pizza i have ever had. prosciutto for the win!!! service was also the best i've ever had, thanks so much sweet brunette girl with glasses!
Super yummy garlic Parmesan fries! I got the crab cake and bacon Brussels sprouts and it was perfect!!! Highly recommend for dinner in Santa Monica!!!
Fantastic pizza, burgers, entrees and dessert. Great friendly service.
I heard about Brick + Mortar from a good friend before traveling to California. He insisted I check it out. I'm certainly glad I did. We went in the evening for a cocktail and ended up snacking on Mac N Cheese and fries since we had pretty much been eating all day but wanted to try something. We also tried the Mule and 2 other specialty cocktails all which had a generous pour and tasted great! The owner, Frankie made his rounds to tables to check on everyone and was genuine with all his customers including our table. Although we were stuffed we tried the chocolate banana bread pudding which was incredible! They have comfy booths and large screen tvs for you to enjoy the game. I also hear brunch is fantastic and when I'm in town again will definitely be back for more! Oh and do yourself a favor and try the spiced tequila!!!!
The food and cocktails were tasty and the beer menu was pretty good. Most importantly, though, the staff was excellent! Our waitress was on top of everything all night long (constantly checking on us to see if we wanted to order anything else).
