Pizza 9

Virgil's Chicago Pizzeria replaced the Pizza Nine that used to be there. It hasn't really changed much from PN. The interior is bare bones lack luster so it seems they're more into take out and delivery than dining in. I ordered a small True Super Veggie Pizza and ate it in the empty restaurant. I was the only customer. The customer service was nice and friendly. The pizza was fine and not much different from Pizza Nine. The crust was okay but could have used a little salt. The sauce tasted a bit too sweet.

Requested delivery. They forgot one pizza I ordered and delivered the other one but it was wrong… Ordered wings and they were disgusting. Burned and not really sure the best way to describe them. Called and told manager about missing pizza and he said ooooooh, you can come pick it up. Never had this issue with Pizza 9. Will not go back.

I wanted to like this place because the reviews seemed good. And pictures looked very appetizing. I also wanted to try something new. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and margarita pizza. The basil was burned to ash I just asked for fresh basil to put on at home. I didn’t inspect the pepperoni well while I was there unfortunately. The pepperoni sadly went in the trash because it wasn’t cooked through so the dough was stuck to the box. They also have a sign that says no refunds so I just called it a wash and ordered Dion’s.

Oh man... I was a regular when it was pizza 9. After the new people, and after the bad reviews, I thought, I'd give them a chance. Surely they can't screw up my online order as well right? As everyone else, my Pizza was raw. Not undercooked, but raw. Putting it in the oven helped it though. It used to be such a good pizza place for the south side.

Pizza looked great.. got the Chicago large with pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese. The sauce was interesting by far wasn't the best not sure if it was frozen sauce maybe but it wasn't pleasant at all. I wish this wasn't the case I was really wanting it it was layered correctly and crust was cooked great..

Ordered pizza online tonight. Was given the wrong pizza and had to go back to return. Finally got home with the correct pizza only to find the dough was incredibly undercooked. Tried baking it in the oven but it was too undercooked to be saved. As a pregnant woman, eating raw dough is extremely dangerous. We will not be dining with this establishment again. Also, as someone from Chicago, I can say that this does not resemble Chicago style pizza at all.

I basically ordered the first time and I thought it was the old pics and nine returns out that it is a gnu pizzeria that has horrible customer service as well as food. I order two large pizzas with different toppings and some chicken wings, I waited an hour for it to be ready and when I get to the place they tell me that they didn’t make the pizza because the machine was broken and I was polite and waited for them to make the pizza, I should’ve left. When I get home and open the pizzas they look horrible the marinara sauce was just slammed into the top of the pizza and they were all undercooked, they gave us complementary green chili breadsticks and those were undercooked as well. When I try to grab a slice of the pizza it was so undercooked that the crust falls off and everything was staked to the bottom of the box. It was horrible the customer service was bad because employees were smoking outside of the place and weren’t following the health protocols, I’ve read other reviews of this place and there’s a clear standard of one star reviews. I don’t know how the place got so much worse but I’m writing this long review to let people know that it’s not worth your time and you would be better off by buying from other pizza places.
