Tecolote Cafe

A friend recommended this place and I am glad they did. It is hidden away in an old shopping center but it is hiding delicious food and amazing customer service. The bakery basket is a must, fresh cinnamon rolls and the blueberry muffin, yum! I had the pasole with my meal and I am glad I did, perfect flavors. I have multiple food allergies and the wonderful waitress worked with me to make sure my meal was perfect.

I really enjoyed my lunch here. I ordered the Huevos Yucatecas with posole and the bread basket. It was all delicious. Honestly everything coming out of the kitchen looked good. Tecolote has the culture of service I'm always looking for. The service was prompt and cheerful. The employees seem to enjoy their jobs and want their patrons to have a great experience. As for the ambiance, Tecolote is located in the middle of a giant but otherwise unremarkable strip mall. At least this popular restaurant is big and the prices are very reasonable. It's probably not a hang out for the cool kids but it's definitely a great place to get a tasty meal.

Not for the faint of appetite. Serious portions that get bolstered by an option of adding a bread basket (cinnamon roll, muffin AND scone) to your breakfast entree. My husband ordered the Carne and Huevos. Vibrant flavors infused into a plate full of potatoes, eggs and chile. Our second dish fell flat in comparison. The corned beef hash with a side of chile was slightly cold and devoid the burst of flavor the first dish. Not bad, but not amazing. Wishing I ordered the green chile rather than the red. Service was friendly and our coffee was always topped off.

We waited about 30 minutes to get sat and then about another 20 minutes before our order was taken so, they were pretty busy. Everybody was super friendly and the food was good and a decent price too, maybe a little salty for my taste but not bad. All in all a nice place with good food, just try and go when not too busy.
